High-resolution clay mineralogy as a proxy for orbital tuning: example of the Hauterivian-Barremian transition in the Betic Cordillera (SE Spain).

11 pages; International audience; The response of clay mineral assemblages to potential orbital forcing is tested in Mesozoic hemipelagic marl- limestone rhythmites of the Río Argos section (Betic Cordillera, Southeastern Spain). Along the section, marls are pervasively enriched in kaolinite and illite, whereas limestones are enriched in smectite-rich illite/smectite mixed-layers, suggesting that marl-limestone alternations are produced by cyclic high-frequency fluctuations of continental runoff. Standard forms and entanglement engineering of multimode Gaussian states under local operations

We investigate the action of local unitary operations on multimode (pure or mixed) Gaussian states and single out the minimal number of locally invariant parametres which completely characterise the covariance matrix of such states. For pure Gaussian states, central resources for continuous-variable quantum information, we investigate separately the parametre reduction due to the additional constraint of global purity, and the one following by the local-unitary freedom. Literatures migrants. ‘Jo també sóc catalana’ de Najat El Hachmi

This article discusses «migrant literature» in Catalonia, looking at the particular case of Najat El Hachmi, a Catalan writer of Moroccan origin. Here we analyse her first book, the auto-biographical Jo també sóc catalana (“I Am Also Catalan”) by examining how the migratory experience is expressed from a linguistic, cultural and gender perspective. We also compare her case with that of other writers, especially those belonging to the so-called «Francophone Maghreb» literature. 

Stroke and cardiac arrhythmias.

Stroke is frequently followed by electrocardiographic (ECG) changes. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the global incidence of these changes after ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes, but it focused on cardiac arrhythmias. In ischemic strokes, these were correlated with the side of the lesion(s). The study was retrospective, and 450 patients (out of 971 examined) were entered in the study based on the following inclusion criteria: (1) "completed" stroke (352 ischemic and 98 hemorrhagic), (2) ECG on admission, and (3) at least 1 previous ECG.
