Dinamiskie un ģeoķīmiskie sālsūdens intrūzijas izcelsmes indikatori Akmens tilta pazemes ūdeņu novērojumu postenī
2018
Ūdens resursu kvalitāte ir viens no svarīgākajiem sociāl-ekonomiskajiem faktoriem pilsētu attīstībai. Piejūras lielo pilsētu pazemes ūdeņu krājumi ir pakļauti jūras intrūzijas riskam, ko izraisa pārmērīga pazemes ūdens ekspluatācija. Šāda situācija izveidojās Rīgā 20. gs. 70-tajos gados Gaujas ūdens horizontā, kas izraisīja pazemes ūdens līmeņa kritumu arī pārsedzošajos ūdens horizontos. Tiek uzskatīts, ka depresijas piltuves aizpildīšanās notiek dziļāk iegulošo ūdeņu augšupvērstas infiltrācijas rezultātā, tomēr trūkst detalizētu pētījumu, kas to pierādītu. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot sāļā ūdens izcelsmi Akmens tilta novērojumu postenī, izmantojot dinamiskos un ģeoķīmiskos ūdens izcelsmes…
Thuoux and Saint-Pierre d’Argençon Sections (Subalpine Basin, Southeastern France): Case Studies of Ammonite Biostratigraphy for the Potential Candid…
2014
The Thuoux and Saint-Pierre d’Argencon sections (Subalpine Basin, southeastern France) display a thick silty–clayey sedimentation with abundant and diversified ammonite faunas, free of detectable hiatuses. The Callovian–Oxfordian boundary is biostratigraphically located between the Lamberti and the Mariae zones or, more precisely, between the Lamberti Subzone (paucicostatum horizon) and the Scarburgense Subzone (thuouxensis horizon). The mixing of Boreal–Sub-Boreal Cardioceratinae and Sub-Mediterranean–Tethyan Hecticoceratinae, Peltoceratinae, and Perisphinctinae in this basin allows reliable worldwide correlations that enhance the choice of the Thuoux and Saint-Pierre d’Argencon sections a…
Proposal for the Thuoux section as a candidate for the GSSP of the base of the Oxfordian stage.
2012
20 pages; International audience; The Thuoux section, located in South-Eastern Basin of France (coordinates: 44°30'55"E; 5°42'25"N), is a section that satisfies numerous demanding criteria as reference section (GSSP) for the base of the Oxfordian stage. Sedimentation was continuous in that the abundant ammonitic fauna yields no detectable hiatuses. The stratigraphic boundary is located between the Lamberti Zone and the Mariae Zone or more precisely between the Paucicostatum horizon (MARCHAND, 1979) and the Thuouxensis horizon (FORTWENGLER & MARCHAND, 1994a). In this section, there is a perfect mixing bet-ween Boreal ammonites (Cardioceratinae) whose species are used as stratigraphic markers…
ZS "Avotiņi" saimnieciskās darbības analīze un nākotnes attīstības perspektīvas
2016
Maģistra darbā ir veikta ZS “Avotiņi” saimnieciskā darba analīze, izmantojot sekojošas analīzes metodes: •pārskata lasīšana; •horizontālā analīze; •vertikālā analīze; •finanšu koeficientu aprēķināšana. Finanšu pārskatu lietotāji, veicot finanšu analīzi, var iegūt informāciju par uzņēmuma saimniecisko vai finanšu stāvokli. Tas ļauj pieņemt lēmumus par līdzekļu investēšanu, tādejādi jebkurš lēmums var būtiski ietekmēt tālāku saimniecisko un finansiālo darbību. Darba teorētiskajā daļā autore maģistra darbā apraksta finansiālā stāvokļa mērķus un metodes, raksturo informācijas avotus un lietotājus. Lai novērtētu uzņēmuma saistību racionālu izmantošanu, darba praktiskajā daļā tiek novērtēta bilan…
Dynamics of thick discs around Schwarzschild-de Sitter black holes
2003
We consider the effects of a cosmological constant on the dynamics of constant angular momentum discs orbiting Schwarzschild-de Sitter black holes. The motivation behind this study is to investigate whether the presence of a radial force contrasting the black hole's gravitational attraction can influence the occurrence of the runaway instability, a robust feature of the dynamics of constant angular momentum tori in Schwarzschild and Kerr spacetimes. In addition to the inner cusp near the black hole horizon through which matter can accrete onto the black hole, in fact, a positive cosmological constant introduces also an outer cusp through which matter can leave the torus without accreting on…
Aspects of soil phenolic matter (SPM): An explorative investigation in agricultural, agroforestry, and wood ecosystems
2014
Abstract This paper assesses the distribution of soil phenolic matter (SPM) in soil environments from a pedological perspective, with particular emphasis on soil horizonation and its involvement in pedogenic processes. The study was conducted on 15 soil profiles (Andosols, Calcisols, Cambisols, Lixisols, Phaeozems, Podzols, Umbrisols) covering five distinct ecosystems. Although the ecosystems were virtually homogeneous in and of themselves, they represented strongly contrasting climates, geolithology and morphology, land use and vegetation cover (intensive agriculture, chestnut grove, alpine pasture, woody reforestations, and natural woods). Three main SPM fractions were categorised: (i) “t…
Diversity and Evolution of the Phenazine Biosynthesis Pathway
2010
ABSTRACT Phenazines are versatile secondary metabolites of bacterial origin that function in biological control of plant pathogens and contribute to the ecological fitness and pathogenicity of the producing strains. In this study, we employed a collection of 94 strains having various geographic, environmental, and clinical origins to study the distribution and evolution of phenazine genes in members of the genera Pseudomonas , Burkholderia , Pectobacterium , Brevibacterium , and Streptomyces . Our results confirmed the diversity of phenazine producers and revealed that most of them appear to be soil-dwelling and/or plant-associated species. Genome analyses and comparisons of phylogenies inf…
Scenario optimization asset and liability modelling for individual investors
2006
We develop a scenario optimization model for asset and liability management of individual investors. The individual has a given level of initial wealth and a target goal to be reached within some time horizon. The individual must determine an asset allocation strategy so that the portfolio growth rate will be sufficient to reach the target. A scenario optimization model is formulated which maximizes the upside potential of the portfolio, with limits on the downside risk. Both upside and downside are measured vis- `a-vis the goal. The stochastic behavior of asset returns is captured through bootstrap simulation, and the simulation is embedded in the model to determine the optimal portfolio. …

Millennial-scale phase relationships between ice-core and Mediterranean marine records: insights from high-precision 40Ar/39Ar dating of the Green Tu…
2013
International audience; With the advent of annually-resolved polar ice records extending back to 70 ka, marine and continental paleoclimate studies have now matured into a discipline where high-quality age control is essential for putting on an equal pace layer-counted timescale models and Late Quaternary sedimentary records. High-resolution U-Th dating of speleothem records and 40Ar/39Ar dating of globally recorded geomagnetic excursions have recently improved the time calibration of Quaternary archives, reflecting the cross-disciplinary effort made to synchronize the geologic record at the millennial scale. Yet, tie-points with such an absolute age control remain scarce for paleoclimatic …
