Multispectral filter arrays: Recent advances and practical implementation
2014
Thanks to some technical progress in interferencefilter design based on different technologies, we can finally successfully implement the concept of multispectral filter array-based sensors. This article provides the relevant state-of-the-art for multispectral imaging systems and presents the characteristics of the elements of our multispectral sensor as a case study. The spectral characteristics are based on two different spatial arrangements that distribute eight different bandpass filters in the visible and near-infrared area of the spectrum. We demonstrate that the system is viable and evaluate its performance through sensor spectral simulation. Multispectral filter arrays: Recent advan…
Self-compassion and social functioning of people – research review
2015
Abstract Self-compassion is considered to be a healthy and adaptive attitude towards oneself, occurring both as a feature, as well as a state. Self-compassionate attitude towards oneself is composed of: a) kindness and understanding given to oneself b) mindfulness of one’s own experiences and c) a sense of community of experiences with humanity. Compassion towards oneself is structurally and functionally distinct from the self-commiseration and self-pity that lead to worse adaptation. Research shows that self-compassion is associated with better regulation of negative emotions. Neff (2003 a) in her theoretical assumption states that due to more effective emotion regulation , people with a h…
CuInSe2/Zn(S,O,OH) junction by electrochemical and chemical route for photovoltaic applications (GE 2014)
2014
Electrodeposition is a convenient technique for the development of low cost materials for photovoltaic (PV) device processing. Using a single step electrodeposition route, several groups have fabricated CIS (CuInSe) and CIGS (CuInGaSe) films. One of the most important requirements for successful application of one-step electrodeposition film formation is the ability to control composition of the deposited films and to develop polycrystalline microstructures with a low surface roughness and high sintered density.
Photoelectric valuation of highly efficient Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
2015
Nowadays, a growing demand for free and clean energy requires the study and the development of new low-cost solar photovoltaic (PV) cells. Among them, Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) based on ruthenium complexes as sensitizers are assuming a great importance. The DSSCs under study are composed placing in succession a transparent conductive glass on which is screen-printed a mesoporous TiO2 thin film sensitized by a ruthenium based dye (N719) , an electrolytic solution containing a redox couple (I-/I3-) and another conductive glass covered by a thin transparent catalyst platinum film. In this work, we have measured the main photoelectrochemical parameters of the above mentioned DSSCs at d…
Light Soaking measurements on Ruthenium-based Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
2016
An interesting phenomenon occurring in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) when exposed to an uninterrupted period of illumination is the so-called light soaking effect, which consists in the increase of the main electrical parameters of the cell, such as the photocurrent and the efficiency. Studying such an effect has noteworthy practical implications, ranging from the optimization of the manufacturing process to stability tests of DSSCs. In this paper, we present an experimental investigation on the performance variation, due to light soaking, of Ruthenium-based DSSCs.
Density of States evaluation of Molybdenum Oxide for c-Si solar cell
Silicon-based heterojunction technology (HJT) is one of the most promising candidates for high performance and low cost solar cells with world-record efficiency close to 27% in IBC architecture. The HJT exploits the excellent passivation properties of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H); although, the use of doped a-Si:H has drawbacks such as parasitic absorption and low-thermal budget to cope with back-end metallization. Replacing the p-type a-Si:H with molybdenum oxide (MoOx) is a viable alternative. Optimizing this hole-selective layer is needed; however information on the defect density of states (DOS), linked to oxygen vacancies is still lacking.
Tailoring of the solid state properties of Al-Nb mixed oxides: A photoelectrochemical study
2013
Al-Nb containing mixed oxides were grown by anodizing sputter-deposited Al-Nb alloys of different compositions. A photoelectrochemical investigation was carried out in order to estimate the band gap, flat band potential, and conductivity type of these oxides as a function of their composition. The dependence of the band gap on the composition of mixed sp-d metal oxides has been rationalized by using a semiempirical correlation between the difference of electronegativity and band gap of oxides proposed in the literature some years ago and recently tested for regular d-d metal mixed oxides. The band gap increase observed as a function of Al content into the oxides seems mainly depending on th…

An updated dichotomous key to the snakes of Europe
2022
This work presents an updated dichotomous key to all snake species of Europe, based on morphological, morphometric and distributional characters. It gathers data from both the last dichotomous keys concerning European snake species and every following paper giving updates on taxonomic classification or the occurrence of new allochthonous species. The key includes 58 snake taxa, including 57species and one still unnamed taxon, distributed on the European territory, and photographic material for each species. The aim of this paper is to make the identification of all European snake species through a single manuscript more accessible, not only for researchers, but also for citizen science, thu…
Study of eta and eta' Photoproduction at MAMI
2017
The reactions γp→ηp and γp→η′p are measured from their thresholds up to the center-of-mass energy W=1.96 GeV with the tagged-photon facilities at the Mainz Microtron, MAMI. Differential cross sections are obtained with unprecedented statistical accuracy, providing fine energy binning and full production-angle coverage. A strong cusp is observed in the total cross section for η photoproduction at the energies in the vicinity of the η′ threshold, W=1896 MeV (Eγ=1447 MeV). Within the framework of a revised ηMAID isobar model, the cusp, in connection with a steep rise of the η′ total cross section from its threshold, can only be explained by a strong coupling of the poorly known N(1895)1/2− sta…
