This paper shows the data edited and acquired in June and October 2010 by surveys in Sabratha made by researchers at the University of Palermo, in collaboration whit the CNR ITABC for the PRIN 2008 Project. It consists of a preliminary study for an archaeological gis of Sabratha to promote analysis regarding the riuse of space in the Regiones III-V of Sabratha, after the destruction attribuited to the earthquake on 21th July 365. In particular, the paper presents the results of the first study concerning the catacomb in the eastern suburbs, the sub-divo funerary areas between the churches 3 and 4 and the so-called Baths ofOceanus, the necropolis sub-divo North-East of the Theater and, final…
La producción española en Tesis Doctorales sobre orientación en la Base de Datos TESEO (2001-2012)
2013
The objective of this research is to analyse the scientific production in PhD Thesis about guidance in Spain from 2001 to 2012. The data have been recollected on the TESEO database belonging to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. It has realized a content analysis of the titles, keywords and abstracts and it has assessed of them their productivity, the general and methodological features and the subjects that have been studied. It has been obtained ninety PhD Thesis in relation to the field of guidance over the last ten years that have studied mainly curriculum and career development. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la producción científica en Tesis Doctorales sobre orient…
Ecotheology in the service of religion and science
2020
The aim of the text is to assess the ecumenical potential of various contemporary approaches to ecotheology, which try to take into account the achievements of natural and social sciences. It outlines the effects of the ecumenical interest of the Churches in ecology, understood as a certain style of thinking and acting, taking into account the good of the natural environment. The results of ecological interest in the Churches are discussed by numerous authors. For example, two complementary concepts from Western and Eastern Christianity are presented: Thomas Berry's Interdisciplinary Ecotheology and John Zizioulas' Ethically Oriented Ecotheology.

Chrześcijaństwo i religie niechrześcijańskie w myśli Karla Bartha
2017

Assessment of cross-flow filtration as microalgae harvesting technique prior to anaerobic digestion: Evaluation of biomass integrity and energy demand
2018
[EN] In the present study, the effect of cross-flow filtration (CFF) on the overall valorization of Chlorella spp. microalgae as biogas was assessed. The effect of CFF on microalgae cell integrity was quantified in terms of viability which was correlated with the anaerobic biodegradability. The viability dropped as the biomass concentration increased, whereas anaerobic biodegradability increased linearly with the viability reduction. It was hypothesized that a stress-induced release and further accumulation of organic polymers during CFF increased the flux resistance which promoted harsher shear-stress conditions. Furthermore, the volume reduction as the concentration increased entailed an …
Cytotoxicity of 91 Kenyan indigenous medicinal plants towards human CCRF-CEM leukemia cells.
2015
Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Plants from Kenyan flora are traditionally used against many ailments, including cancer and related diseases. Cancer is characterized as a condition with complex signs and symptoms. Recently there are recommendations that ethnopharmacological usages such as immune and skin disorders, inflammatory, infectious, parasitic and viral diseases should be taken into account when selecting plants that treat cancer. Aim The present study was aimed at investigating the cytotoxicity of a plethora of 145 plant parts from 91 medicinal plants, most of which are used in the management of cancer and related diseases by different communities in Kenya, against CCRF-CEM …
Performance of Host-Races of the Fruit Fly,Tephritis conuraon a Derived Host Plant, the Cabbage ThistleCirsium oleraceum: Implications for the Origin…
2008
The thistle-infesting fruit fly Tephritis conura Loew (Diptera: Tephritidae) forms host races on the melancholy thistle, Cirsium hetewphyllum (L.) Hill (Asterales: Asteraceae) and the cabbage thistle, Cirsium olemceum (L.). Scop. Previous research indicates that the host shift occurred from C. hetewphyllum to C. oleraceum. In this paper we address whether the host shift involved physiological adaptations by studying oviposition acceptance and survival of the two host races on the derived host C. oleraceum. Performance differed significantly between host races. T. conura originating from C. oleraceum produced adults in 75% of all egg-laying trials in contrast to only 6.6% in T. conura origin…
Comparative study of the effectiveness of a low-pressure hyperbaric oxygen treatment and physical exercise in women with fibromyalgia: randomized cli…
2020
Background: Fibromyalgia (FM) is characterized by chronic pain and fatigue, among other manifestations, thus advising interventions that do not aggravate these symptoms. The main purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of low-pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) on induced fatigue, pain, endurance and functional capacity, physical performance and cortical excitability when compared with a physical exercise program in women with FM. Methods: A total of 49 women with FM took part in this randomized controlled trial. They were randomly allocated to three groups: physical exercise group (PEG, n = 16), low-pressure hyperbaric oxygen therapy group (HBG, n = 17) and control group (CG, …
