International audience; Ce volume propose un état des lieux de la recherche actuelle surla mise en oeuvre de la catégorie du figement pour l’analyse desdiscours spécialisés. Les auteurs articulent l’approche du figementd’une part avec la terminologie en examinant non seulement lesmodalités de formation des termes, mais aussi leur profil combinatoire,leur rapport à la notion de collocation et leur fonctionnementdans la dénomination. Ils envisagent d’autre part le rôle du figementen discours et dans la phraséo-genèse du texte. Les objets d’étudessont variés – textes techniques, textes de presse spécialisée, textesde vulgarisation. Les langues objets sont le français, l’anglais etl’allemand.

Abstract In languages like English or German, definite and indefinite markers serve to distinguish given/old from new information in the discourse model. Japanese, in contrast, lacks definiteness markers, but has a topic marker. The present paper examines how the information status of a noun phrase (NP) in Japanese is represented and integrated into the discourse model. An ERP experiment investigated the processing of topic-marked and non-topic-marked NPs following three different context sentences (making available a given, inferred, or new reading). Figurative elements in language have their own particularities, including words that deviate from their generally accepted definition to amplify our language or to paraphrase an issue. It is still unclear how individuals process idioms that are figurative or ambiguous, especially when they additionally become distracted by modified idioms that are similar in appearance. This article aims to contribute to the knowledge of Medieval Hispanic Phraseology by means of the stylistic analysis of the phraseological units, which are represented in the Crónica troyana (Juan de Burgos, 1490). To achieve this aim, this study is based on the methodological program proposed by Echenique Elizondo (2003), in order to tackle the historical and stylistic analysis of these units. On the basis of quantitative data, it is claimed that the periphrasis started out as an emphatic alternative to the simple tenses. Its length, unusualness and optionality made it well suited as an emphatic marker. This article is based on the results of a study dealing with the various classes of Italian verbs (modals, aspectuels, verbs of movement, progressives, avere da + infinitive) that attract the clitic pronouns from their base position. Their "climbing" is accounted for by excluding any sentence boundary in the domain of the clitic movement. Since this is exactly the traditional structure of the verb-auxiliary relationship, the following hypothesis is made: the verb phrases of a single sentence comprise, in addition to the main verb, an indefinite number of complementary verbs (the ones listed above plus the temporal/aspectual and passive auxiliaries).
