The survival rates of pelagic fish larvae in these phases are usually very low and subject to fluctuations, consequently affecting the recruitment of new generations. Aims of this work were to highlight the importance of a small and artificial recently formed wetland area, that presents different interesting ornithological peculiarities. Helminths often occupy defined niches in the gut of their definitive hosts. In the dioecious acanthocephalans, adult males and females usually have similar gut distributions, but sexual site segregation has been reported in at least some species. We studied the intestinal distribution of the acanthocephalan Echinorhynchus borealis von Linstow, 1901 (syn. of E. cinctulus Porta, 1905) in its definitive host, burbot (Lota lota Linnaeus). Over 80% of female worms were found in the pyloric caeca, whereas the majority of males were in the anterior two-thirds of the intestine. Mērķis. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt iespējamo saikni starp pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu vispārējās veselības traucējumiem, mutes veselību ietekmējošiem kaitīgiem paradumiem un kariesa intensitāti. Metodes. Šo šķērsgriezuma pētījumu, kas notika 2017. un 2018.gadā, apstiprināja Latvijas Universitātes Ētikas Komisija. Kopējais dalībnieku skaits bija 158, vecumā starp 2 un 7 gadiem. Rakstiska piekrišana tika saņemta no vecākiem. Bērna vecāki aizpildīja aptaujas. Klīnisko apskati veica trīs zobārsti, kuriem asistēja grupa ar studentiem. Zbiorowiska z klasy Utricularietea intermedio-minoris Den Hartog et Segal 1964 em. Pietsch 1965 należą do wyspecjalizowanych pod względem ekologicznym fitocenoz, występujących w wodach oligotroficznych, mezotroficznych oraz dystroficznych na podłożu torfowym. W Polsce należą do grupy zbiorowisk bardzo słabo zbadanych. Celem pracy było przedstawienie aktualnego rozmieszczenia i charakterystyki fitosocjologicznej zespołów z klasy Utricularietea intermedio-minoris, których fitocenozy stwierdzono w latach 2000–2015 w południowo-zachodniej Polsce na terenie stawów hodowlanych województw: dolnośląskiego i opolskiego.
