El presente estudio tiene como objetivo conocer el interés por la actividad física y la práctica deportiva de 224 (111 chicos y 113 chicas) alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato en un instituto de la ciudad de Valencia, así como relacionar dichos hábitos con la alimentación y el consumo de drogas. Para realizar el estudio se utilizó un cuestionario de elaboración propia, formado por veintitrés ítems de los cuales se extrajeron los resultados. Los resultados mostraron que los adolescentes estudiados tienen, en general, buenos hábitos deportivos aunque obtienen peores valores en los hábitos de consumo de sustancias o tiempo dedicado a las nuevas tecnologías. Se describe una nueva asociación vegetal, Adianto capilli-veneris-Pinguiculetum saetabensis (All. Pinguiculion longifoliae), dominada por Pinguicula saetabensis, Adiantum capillus-veneris y Erica terminalis, que resulta endémica de las áreas termomediterráneas de la Sierra de Enguera (C-S de la provincia de Valencia). Es una comunidad rara y muy frágil, propia de grietas y oquedades de balmas y roquedos calizos donde se depositan tobas calcáreas, que permanecen húmedas y rezumantes durante buena parte del año. Participation and compensation claims in voluntary forest conservation: A case of privately owned forests in Finland

Abstract A new market-based voluntary programme aimed at preserving forest habitats on private land has been implemented in Finland. This scheme is based on conservation by fixed-term agreements between forest owners and a governmental authority. In this study we examine the characteristics of forest owners and their properties that indicate the owners' willingness to participate in the programme. In addition, we analyse factors affecting the real compensation claims. The study uses a dual set of data from the pilot project, i.e. one data set supplied by the authority and another collected from the owners involved in the project. AbstractLevels of plant invasions in different habitat types were assessed in several regional studies, but few of them were from the Mediterranean. Here we compare the levels of vascular plant invasion across habitats and plant communities of Sicily. We used a large dataset of plant species presences/absences in vegetation plots to analyze the invasion patterns across habitats considering biogeography, life form and phenology of alien plants. This study on vascular plant species of boreal spruce and pine mires concentrated on two geometrical principles: whether single large or several small (SLOSS) reserves contain more species and whether patch shape should be as nearly circular as possible. 2. SLOSS and patch shape have usually been tested by using species richness. Only a few studies have taken the rarity of species into account, and taxonomic diversity has never been used.
