Ecological role of mycotoxins produced by Fusarium graminearum : consequences of the presence of deoxynivalenol (DON) in crop residues on the soil mi…
2012
Fusarium graminearum is a plant pathogenic fungus, causing devastating disease “Fusarium head blight” (FHB) in cereals including wheat and maize. It also contaminates the grains with mycotoxins including deoxynivalenol (DON) which are toxic to human and animals. This disease has resulted in the serious losses in grain yield and quality. We established through a first bibliographic review that during off season fungus survives saprophytically on the crop residues (ecological habitat) and serves as primary inoculum for the next season crop. However, we noticed also that the literature was poor about the role mycotoxins could play in the establishment of F. graminearum in such a habitat. The m…
Moringa oleifera supplemented foods in South Africa : A multidisciplinary approach combining consumer studies with physico-chemical and nutritional a…
2021
Malnutrition is a major challenge in South Africa (SA), particularly in Eastern Cape and Limpopo provinces, which are predominantly black and historically disadvantaged. This thesis aims to assess the potential of Moringa oleifera (MO) as a source of nutritional improvement in the diets of mothers and their children in these provinces. Known for its nutritional benefits, MO is a plant native to India, now cultivated in SA but not widely used for human nutrition. A two-part approach was followed in this thesis. The first part aims to understand how MO is perceived by consumers and how it can be integrated into the South African food repertory. A study of the knowledge, beliefs and consumptio…

Spatio-temporal dynamics of weed seed eating carabid species in agricultural mosaics: variation of annual habitat quality of oil seed rape and role o…
2017
National audience; Carabid beetles are considered as important contributors to the regulation of weeds and recent studies have shown that weed seed predation by carabids may partly substitute for herbicide use in agriculture. Enhancing this ecosystem service requires to understand the spatio-temporal distribution of these species during the cropping season. Infra-annual variation in the spatial distribution of ground beetles within agricultural mosaics is less documented but of prime importance given that agricultural landscapes are highly dynamics. Indeed, crop phenology, agricultural operations but also habitat requirements during life cycle can lead to a redistribution of individuals bet…
ELEMENTS DE REFLEXION EN VUE DE COMPRENDRE L'AGIR URBAIN
2006

2010
This merovingian establishment discovered during an archaeological evaluation to the west of the town of Delle in the Belfort territory is located on the Batte hillside about 300 m from the large Gallo-roman domain on the opposite slope of the valley. This settlement is characterised by a large edifice built of stone and perishable materials, which replaces a timber framed building. The building covers 230 m2 and vestiges of the floors, partitions and interior fittings are preserved which is rare for the period. The analysis of phosphate levels has given indications as to the function of each room. The finds are modest, but they do date, along with radiocarbon analysis, the settlement from …
