Finnish writer Bo Carpelan (1926-2011) gained unparalleled recognition amongst Finland-Swedish readers at home and others worldwide for his work as a poet and novelist. Yet despite a good deal of his literary output having been translated into English, surprisingly little critical commentary exists for the English reader. This study seeks to fill that gap, discovering as it does the dialogic possibilities inherent in Carpelan's work. Eight scholars separately embarked on a common challenge: to use the critical methodology of Mikhail Bakhtin to read Carpelan's novel Urwind, which won the Finlandia Prize in 1993. <p style="text-align: justify;">A la suite d'un orage de grêle très violent des dégâts très importants sur les ceps ont entraîné des modifications profondes de l'équilibre entre les différents organes et en particulier entre tous les bourgeons épargnés par la grêle. Une étude fine des facteurs de l'entrée en croissance plus ou moins active de chaque type de bourgeon a été réalisée. Signs of impaired thiamine (vitamin B1) status in feeding-migrating Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) were studied in three Baltic Sea areas, which differ in the proportion and nutritional composition of prey fish sprat (Sprattus sprattus) and herring (Clupea harengus). The concentration of n−3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n−3 PUFAs) increased in salmon with dietary lipids and n−3 PUFAs, and the hepatic peroxidation product malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration increased exponentially with increasing n−3 PUFA and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6n−3) concentration, whereas hepatic total thiamine concentration, a sensitive indicator of thiamine status, decreased with th…

Saskaņā ar Tartu-Maskavas semiotikas skolas idejām, dabiskā valoda veido primāro modelēšanas sistēmu, uz kuras pamata tiek konstruētas augstāka līmeņa kultūras sistēmas (sekundārās modelēšanas sistēmas). Mihails Lotmans ir pārskatījis klasisko modelēšanas teoriju, un saskaņā ar viņa piedāvāto teoriju primārās un sekundārās modelēšanas sistēmas ir relatīvas viena pret otru, un tajās jēdziens „valoda” tiek šķirts no jēdziena „semiotikas sistēma”.
