A contribution to the inventory of parasitic microfungi on land plants in Champsaur region (French Alps, “Parc National des Ecrins”).

A preliminary investigation of the flora of parasitic microfungi on land plants is reported, focused upon the mountain and the base of the subalpine ranges, in Champsaur region, (south-western French Alps, mainly within the “Parc National des Ecrins”). Sheltered by 128 host-plant species, 182 species of microfungi have been identified. Their respective distributions, among 24 investigated localities (including four located within the Central Zone of the “Parc National des Ecrins”), are specified. This presentation aims at discussing the opportunities and limitations of football players in East Germany, Hungary and Romania in the period between the end of World War II (1945) and the collapse of the Eastern bloc (1989). Football served as an important propaganda tool for the communist regimes in Eastern Europe. Therefore, the political elites supported football players financially with sinecures in the military, police, and in commercial and industrial companies, as well as by releasing them for training and competitions in their associated clubs. Excess volatiles supplied by mingling of mafic magma at an andesite arc volcano

We present the results of a study of volcanic gases at Soufriere Hills Volcano, Montserrat, which includes the first spectroscopic measurements of the major gas species CO2 and H2S at this volcano using a Multisensor Gas Analyzer System (MultiGAS) sensor. The fluxes of CO2 and H2S were 640.2750 t/d and 84.266 t/d, respectively, during July 2008, during a prolonged eruptive pause. The flux of CO2 is similar to estimates for the entire arc from previous geochemical studies, while the measured H2S flux significantly alters our interpretation of the sulphur budget for this volcano. In this master’s thesis, profile measurements of PTW Semiflex 3D and PTW Semiflex ionisation chambers in addition to IBA MatriXX matrix detector were compared to each other using different measurement set-ups. The ionisation chamber measure- ments were done in a water phantom in horizontal and vertical orientations. Using two different set-ups in the horizontal orientation. Background: Lactoferrin is a mammalian milk glycoprotein involved in innate immunity. Recent data show that bovine lactoferrin (bLF) prevents late-onset sepsis in preterm very low birth weight (VLBW) neonates. Methods: This is a secondary analysis of data from a multicenter randomized controlled trial where preterm VLBW neonates randomly received bLF (100 mg/day; group A1), bLF + Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (106 colony-forming units per day; group A2), or placebo (group B) for 6 weeks. Piena permeāts un tajā esošā laktoze kā substrāts var tikt izmantots ogļhidrātu biokonversijas pētījumos, kā arī dažādu mikroorganismu kultivēšanā, lai veidotu produktus ar pievienoto vērtību. Darba mērķis bija izvērtēt iespēju iegūt galaktooligosaharīdu (GOS) un pienskābo baktēriju saturošu sinbiotisku produktu, veicot selektīvu fermentāciju maisījumā, kas iegūts fermentatīvās GOS biosintēzes laikā no piena permeāta. Veicot fermentatīvu sintēzi ar ß-galaktozidāzēm, tika iegūts un aprakstīts GOS saturošs maisījums, kurā vēlāk tika veikta selektīva fermentācija ar probiotiskajiem Lactobacillus spp. celmiem, izvērtējot šo celmu ogļhidrātu preferences un izdzīvotību.
