Matka puutarhaan : suomalaisen puutarhamatkailun jäljillä

Tutkimus on katsaus yhteen kulttuuriympäristön osaan, puutarhaan, matkailun nä-kökulmasta. Puutarhamatkailu on osa puutarhailmiötä. Kyseessä on tapaustutkimus, jossa puutarhamatkailu nähdään matkailuilmiön tutkittavana osana. Tutkimusaihetta lähestytään matkailun ja puutarhan tutkimuksen kautta. Vaikka puutarhaharrastus on lisääntynyt yleisen länsimaisen vaurastumisen myötä, puutarhat ovat yhä melko tuntematon osa rakennettua kulttuuriympäristöämme. Acacia saligna, appelée également Acacia cyanophylla, est une fabacée arbustive originaire de l'Australie. Cette plante a une grande résilience et s’adapte facilement à de nombreux écosystèmes différents, ce qui lui confère une importance économique forte. Ensimmäinen moderni terroristinen itsemurhaisku tapahtui Libanonissa vuonna 1981. Iskua seuranneina vuosikymmeninä itsemurhaiskut ovat levinneet lukuisten eri terroristijärjestöjen käyttöön useille eri maantieteellisille alueille. Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa keskityn itsemurhaiskuihin ja tämän iskutaktiikan leviämiseen eri terroristiryhmien välillä. Tutkimus kartoittaa samalla eri terroristiryhmien välisiä verkostoja. Tutkimuksen tapausesimerkeiksi valikoitui kolme terroristijärjestöä: libanonilainen Hizbollah, srilankalainen Tamilitiikerit sekä palestiinalaisjärjestöt Hamas ja Palestiinan islamilainen jihad. A GEM-TPC in twin configuration for the Super-FRS tracking of heavy ions at FAIR

The GEM-TPC [1] described herein will be part of the standard beam-diagnostics equipment of the Super-FRS [2] . This chamber will provide tracking information for particle identification at rates up to 1 MHz on an event-by-event basis. The key requirements of operation for these chambers are: close to 100% tracking efficiency under conditions of high counting rate, spatial resolution below 1 mm and a superb large dynamic range covering projectiles from Z=1 up to Z=92. Crystal field and magnetism with Wannier functions: Rare-earth doped aluminum garnets

Using the recently developed method we calculate the crystal field parameters in yttrium and lutetium aluminum garnets doped with seven trivalent Kramers rare-earth ions. We then insert calculated parameters into the atomic-like Hamiltonian taking into account the electron-electron, spin-orbit and Zeeman interactions and determine the multiplet splitting by the crystal field as well as magnetic $\hat{g}$ tensors. We compare calculated results with available experimental data.
Necrobia rufipes (De geer) infestation in pet food packaging and setup of a monitoring trap

Simple Summary Necrobia rufipes (Coleoptera: Cleridae) is an emerging pest of pet food stores. Information on infestation modalities for this pest is absent and specific monitoring tools are missing. In this paper, the adults’ and larvae’s ability to enter into pet food packaging was evaluated. Furthermore, to set up of a monitoring trap behavioral bioassays were carried out: testing two adhesive surfaces, one generally used in mouse glue trap and the other used in cockroach trap, to evaluate their ability in avoiding insects’ escape; screening different molecules, as candidate food attractants: methyl cyclopentenolone, squalene and stearic acid.
