Reaction of the tricobalt carbyne cluster [Co-3(mu(3)-CH)(CO)(9)] with chiral diphosphines of the Josiphos and Walphos families affords the new clusters [Co-3(mu(3)-CH)(CO)(7)(P-P*)] in good yield (P-P* = J004 (1), J005 (2), J007 (3), W001 (4), W003 (5)). The new alkylidyne tricobalt clusters, and the previously known [Co-3(mu(3)-CH)(CO)(7)(mu-J003)], have been tested as catalysts/catalyst precursors for intermolecular Pauson-Khand cyclization, using norbornene and phenylacetylene as substrate. In this study, a modification of the Monod kinetics expression has been proposed to take into account this substrate threshold concentration observed in bacterial growth. Pyrazole amino acids: hydrogen bonding directed conformations of 3-amino-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid residue

A series of model compounds containing 3-amino-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid residue with N-terminal amide/urethane and C-terminal amide/hydrazide/ester groups were investigated by using NMR, Fourier transform infrared, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods, additionally supported by theoretical calculations. The studies demonstrate that the most preferred is the extended conformation with torsion angles ϕ and ψ close to ±180°. The studied 1H-pyrazole with N-terminal amide/urethane and C-terminal amide/hydrazide groups solely adopts this energetically favored conformation confirming rigidity of that structural motif. Dehydroamino acids are non-coded amino acids that offer unique conformational properties. Dehydrophenylalanine (ΔPhe) is most commonly used to modify bioactive peptides to constrain the topography of the phenyl ring in the side chain, which commonly serves as a pharmacophore. The Ramachandran maps (in the gas phase and in CHCl3 mimicking environments) of ΔPhe analogues with methyl groups at the β position of the side chain as well as at the C-terminal amide were calculated using the B3LYP/6-31 + G** method.
