A hardware skin-segmentation IP for vision based smart ADAS through an FPGA prototyping

International audience; In this paper we presents a platform based design approach for fast HW/SW embedded smart Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) design and prototyping. Then, we share our experience in designing and prototyping a HW/SW vision based smart embedded system as an ADAS that helps to increase the safety of car's drivers. We present a physical prototype of the vision ADAS based on a Zynq FPGA. The system detects the fatigue state of the driver by monitoring the eyes closure and generates a real-time alert. Direct isolation of primary cells from tissues and organs allows for the maintenance of important cell characteristics and properties for in vitro studies and a plethora of biomedical applications. Polymer additives are widely used to improve the performance of road bitumens including their resistance to hardening during oxidation, although their oxidative inhibitor effect has not been well documented. Alkaline Pre-treatment of Hardwood Chips Prior to Delignification

Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) chips were pre-treated with alkaline solutions (alkali charges of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8% of NaOH on the oven-dried wood material) at 130°C and 150°C for various treatment times (30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes). Adsorption-induced polymer translocation through a nanopore: a Monte Carlo investigation

Abstract We study the translocation of a coarse-grained flexible polymer through a nanopore in a membrane induced by its adsorption on the trans side of the membrane. Dramatic differences in the threading behavior are observed if the adhesion to the membrane wall, e w , is below or above the adsorption threshold e c r . For e w e c r (weak adsorption) the activation barrier for translocation is at c cis 0 ≈ N / 2 (in terms of the fraction of chain c cis = N cis / N before the pore), independent of chain length N. Surface anchoring on liquid crystalline polymer brushes

We present a Monte Carlo study of the surface anchoring of a nematic fluid on swollen layers of grafted liquid crystalline chain molecules. The liquid crystalline particles are modeled by soft repulsive ellipsoids, and the chains are made of the same particles. An appropriately modified version of the configurational bias Monte Carlo algorithm is introduced, which removes and redistributes chain bonds rather than whole monomers. With this algorithm, a wide range of grafting densities could be studied. The substrate is chosen such that it favors a planar orientation (parallel to the surface). Tracer diffusion properties of core-shell latex films studied by photoinduced grating relaxation

This article reports the application of the Photo-Induced Grating Relaxation technique (also known as Forced Rayleigh Scattering) to investigate the dynamics of films prepared from structured core–shell latex particles via the transport property of the photochromic tracer molecule Aberchrome 540®. The core–shell particles were prepared with a fluoropolymer core (immiscible and impenetrable to the tracer) and a poly(butyl methacrylate) shell. The effect of free polymer on the interactions and the glass transition dynamics of microgel colloids.

By studying the phase behaviour and the short range order of polystyrene microgel colloids in a good solvent we demonstrated that these particles can be considered as hard spheres or nearly hard spheres if the internal cross link density is made sufficiently high. A binary mixture of 1:50 crosslinked (1 crosslink per 50 monomers) particles with a size ratio R(small)/R(large) = 0.83 and a number ratio N(small)/N(large) = 2.7 was characterized with respect to the short range order and glass transition dynamics.
