CASE STUDY REGARDING THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE BASED ON RATES OF RETURN, FOR COMPANIES LISTED ON BUCHAREST STOCK EXCHANGE, ACTING IN MINING AND QUARR…

2013

Analysing the relationships between elements of an enterprise's financial statements, especially between elements from the balance sheet and those from the profit and loss account, the rates of return adds greater utility to the consumers of financial information, offering the possibility to make comparisons over time and space as well as to make reference to internal and external rates. Considering the companies listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange among the best performing, due to the high requirements imposed by a stock market, in this paper has been analyzed the way the financial crisis affected the financial performance in Mining and Quarrying Domain.

Retroposon insertions provide insights into deep lagomorph evolution.

2010

The homogenous mammalian order Lagomorpha comprises about 80 species in two families, Ochotonidae (pikas) and Leporidae (rabbits and hares). However, the phylogenetic relationships among leporids are controversial. Molecular data, particularly from mitochondrial sequences, give highly homoplasious signals. To resolve the controversy between mitochondrial and nuclear data, we analyzed genomic orthologous retroposon insertion sites, a virtually homoplasy-free marker system. From a differential screen of rabbit genomic data for intronic retroposon insertions of CSINE elements, we polymerase chain reaction-amplified and sequenced 11 retroposons in eight representative lagomorphs. We found three…

When Aiyagari meets Piketty: Growth, Inequality and Capital Shares

2021

We incorporate the division of income between capital and labor into analysis on the relationship between inequality and growth. Using historical data, we document that changes in the top 1 % income shares are positively associated with subsequent growth of per capita GDP when the capital share of income is low, whereas under high capital share, the association is negative. We show that these findings are compatible with a theoretical analysis that emphasises how changes in the distribution of income translate into the accumulation of capital and overall economic activity through the interplay between precautionary saving motives and consumption smoothing. We also investigate how accounting…

Associations of ofatumumab exposure and treatment outcomes in patients with untreated CLL receiving chemoimmunotherapy

2016

Relationships between patient characteristics, ofatumumab pharmacokinetics, and treatment outcomes were investigated in this phase 2 trial of ofatumumab plus fludarabine and cyclophosphamide (FC) in untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Patients were randomized 1:1 to receive 500 or 1000 mg ofatumumab (Cycle 1; 300 mg) plus FC every 4 weeks for six cycles. Median C(max) and C(trough) values were similar at Cycle 1 regardless of the ultimate clinical outcome. At later doses, these values were higher for patients with complete response (CR) than for other patients. Higher C(max) and C(trough) values at Cycles 3 and 6 were significantly associated with an increased likelihood of CR, whereas …

This contribution proposes the analysis of some legal instruments offered by private autonomy in the corporate sphere, in …

Il tarantismo in Sicilia

2017

Settore L-ART/08 - EtnomusicologiaThe text examines published and unpublished materials – such as historical and ethnographic sources archive records and musical documents – which testify the presence of tarantism in Sicily from mid-17th century to the end of the 19th. The Sicilian case is then considered in a wider context of contributions on the theme starting from the ‘classic’ De Martino’work up to the debate on the interpretation of the phenomenon between the poles of exorcism and possession chiefly rased by French ethnomusicologist Gilbert Rouget. The analyses is therefore expanded to the tradition of snakes bites healers (the ciaràuli) which shares with tarantism the spider symbolism and to certain kinds of religious processions characterised by frantic ‘dances’ which suggest elements of functional continuity with tarantism musical-choreutic therapy.

In leasing contracts when the user resolves the sale of the leased property by absolute inability “aliud pro alio”, damages usually take place in its patrimony

Yearly quotas and country-reserved shares in Italian immigration policy

2008

Regular immigration to Italy is based on a quota system setting annual ceilings to legal entries. Reserved shares are granted to single countries or categories of countries. Reserved shares have been increased; they are used as an incentive to obtain the cooperation of countries of origin in stemming irregular migration flows. The total quota of regular immigration has gradually increased too. Still, it does not fully respond to the growing demand of foreign workers on the labour market, and quotas seem to be used as crypto-regularisations rather than as an instrument for regulating legal entries.
