TLR4 expression in ex-Lichenoid lesions—oral squamous cell carcinomas and its surrounding epithelium: the role of tumor inflammatory microenvironment
2022
Toll-like receptors (TLRs) regulate innate and adaptive immune responses. Moreover, TLRs can induce a pro-survival and pro-proliferation response in tumor cells. This study aims to investigate the expression of TLR4 in the epithelium surrounding oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC) in relation to its inflammatory microenvironment. This study included 150 human samples: 30 normal oral control (NOC), 38 non-lichenoid epithelium surrounding OSCC (NLE-OSCC), 28 lichenoid epithelium surrounding OSCC (LE-OSCC), 30 OSCC ex-non oral lichenoid lesion (OSCC Ex-NOLL), and 24 OSCC ex-oral lichenoid lesion (OSCC Ex-OLL). TLR4 expression was investigated by immunohistochemistry and the percentage of posi…
A Survey on Privacy in Decentralized Online Social Networks
2018
Decentralized Online Social Networks (DOSNs) have recently captured the interest of users because of the more control given to them over their shared contents. Indeed, most of the user privacy issues related to the centralized Online Social Network (OSN) services (such as Facebook or Google+) do not apply in the case of DOSNs because of the absence of the centralized service provider. However, these new architectures have motivated researchers to investigate new privacy solutions that allow DOSN’s users to protect their contents by taking into account the decentralized nature of the DOSNs platform. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive overview of the privacy solutions adopted by…
Development of novel dipeptide-like rhodesain inhibitors containing the 3-bromoisoxazoline warhead in a constrained conformation.
2015
Novel dipeptide-like rhodesain inhibitors containing the 3-bromoisoxazoline warhead in a constrained conformation were developed; some of them possess K(i) values in the micromolar range. We studied the structure-activity relationship of these derivatives and we performed docking studies, which allowed us to find out the key interactions established by the inhibitors with the target enzyme. Biological results indicate that the nature of the P2 and P3 substituents and their binding to the S2/S3 pockets is strictly interdependent.
Orthometallation reaction in dirhodium(II) compounds. Selective formation of doubly-metallated compounds with head-to-head structure
1993
Abstract The reaction of the mono-metallated compound Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 3 [(C 6 H 4 )P(CH 3 ) (C 6 H 5 )]·2(HO 2 CCH 3 ) with PPh 3 (1:1 molar ratio) has been studied by 31 P NMR spectroscopy. The reaction yields the doubly-metallated compound Rh 2 (O 2 CCH 3 ) 2 [(C 6 H 4 ) P(CH 3 )(C 6 H 5 )]p(C 6 H 4 )P(C 6 H 5 ) 2 ]·2(HO 2 CCH 3 ) with a head-to-head (H-H) configuration. An intermediate reaction compound, not previously observed, has been spectroscopically detected in solution. Analogous intermediate compounds have been detected using P( p -CH 3 C 6 H 4 ) 3 and P( p -ClC 6 H 4 ) 3 instead of triphenylphosphine.
Experimental Study of Vibrations in Face Milling Cutting
2014
The paper consists of a research in designing and experimental analysis using a face milling cutter with round inserts. A general model for the new cutter is proposed taking into consideration multiple aspects regarding monitoring and controling the milling process. A comparison of measured vibrations when cutting with different parameters for two constructions of the milling head is presented. The objective of this vibration comparison is to verify wether the new design behaves in similar way with the classic and proven concept of insert clamping using a central screw.
Extended View Angle Integral Imaging 3D Display using Smart Pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic Conversion with Head Tracking
2016
We overview a head tracking integral imaging display using the smart pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion method. The crosstalk for a large viewing angle in integral imaging is eliminated by generating a new set of elemental images.
Head Tracking Three-Dimensional Integral Imaging Display Using Smart Pseudoscopic-to-Orthoscopic Conversion
2016
A novel head tracking three-dimensional (3D) integral imaging display is presented. By means of proper application of the smart pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion (SPOC) method, our display allows an extended viewing angle accommodated to the viewer's position which is obtained by a head/eye tracking system. Using the SPOC, new sets of elemental images are calculated and adapted to any specific viewing position. Additionally, the crosstalk which is typical in conventional integral imaging, is eliminated for a large viewing angle. By performing the rotation transformation in the simulated display, viewing a 3D scene with head rotation can be realized for robust display. Experimental resu…
An overview of head tracking integral imaging three-dimensional display using smart pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion
2017
We overview a previously reported head tracking integral imaging three-dimensional (3D) display to extend viewing angle accommodated to a viewer's position without the crosstalk phenomenon. A head detection system is applied to obtain the head position and rotation of a viewer, and a new set of elemental images is then computed using the smart pseudoscopic-to-orthoscopic conversion (SPOC) method for head tracking 3D display. Experimental results validate the proposed method for high quality 3D display with large viewing angle.
