Masennus on kansainvälisesti yksi merkittävimmistä toimintakykyä heikentävistä sairauksista. Masennusoireet lisäävät merkittävästi riskiä sairastua masennukseen. Ainoastaan vähemmistön masennuksesta kärsivistä on todettu hakevan apua sairauteen ja hoitoa haetaan sitä todennäköisemmin, mitä vaikeampi ja pitkäkestoisempi masennustila on, ja mitä suurempi siihen liittyvä koettu toimintakyvyn heikkeneminen on. Tämän poikkileikkaustutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää masennusoireiden yhteyttä terveyspalvelujen käyttöön. IntroductionThe number of gynaecological cancer survivors is increasing and there is a need for a more sustainable model of follow-up care. Today’s follow-up model is time-consuming and patients have reported unmet needs regarding information about their cancer and strategies for managing the consequences of treatment.
