Biokumulacja pierwiastków w grzybach wielkoowocnikowych - przegląd wybranej literatury
2017
Celem pracy było dokonanie analizy bibliometrycznej wybranych publikacji dotyczących akumulacji pierwiastków w grzybach wielkoowocnikowych (ektomikoryzowych i saprofitycznych) występujących na terenie Europy. Analizie poddano wybrane publikacje z lat 2001-2016 dostępne poprzez serwisy, np.: Springer, Science Direct i Web of Science. Przeanalizowano m.in. akumulowane mikro- i makropierwiastki, miejsca prowadzenia badań oraz typ badań (m.in. badania in situ, badania laboratoryjne).
2022
W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki pomiarów stężeń pyłu PM10 w powietrzu atmosferycznym wraz z zawartymi metalami ciężkimi (arsenem, kadmem, niklem i ołowiem).

Efficiency of biochar for reducing mobility of inorganic contaminants
2013
Anthropogenic activities have produced numerous sites with extensive contamination close to residential areas. Several physicochemical and biological remediation methods exist for remediation of metal contaminated soils and lands, such as soil washing, soil flushing, phytoremediation, and electrokinetics. Biochar (biologically derived charcoal) is produced by pyrolysis of biomasses under low oxygen conditions, and it can be applied for recycling organic waste in soils. The main objectives of the present study were to determine the possible use of biochar from forest ersidues (Populus nigra) in order to achieve a stabilization of inorganic contaminants by adsorption processes. Adsorption of …
Use of the eggshells in removing heavy metals from waste water - the process kinetics and efficiency
2019
Studies of the efficiency of Ni, Cu and Cd cations removal from water solutions were carried out, with the use of clay limestone, hen eggshells from eggs for consumption and hen eggshells after hatching, which main element is calcium carbonate. Hen eggshells are a waste product, which can be used as a substitute of clay limestone in removing heavy metals from wet flue gas desulphurisation installation. Mixed solutions of Ni, Cu and Cd were used in the research, with the composition similar to the waste water from wet flue gas desulphurisation installation: Ni (0.009-0.053 mmol/dm3), Cu (0.008-0.057 mmol/dm3)and Cd (0.003-0.008 mmol/dm3). The metals were determined by flame atomic absorption…
The Effect of Interferences on the Uptake of Heavy Metals by Sodium (iron) Titanates from Waste Water
2007
Sodium hexatitanate, sodium trititanate, sodium nonatitanate, and a new iron doped sodium nonatitanate were synthesized. Common interferences present in waste waters that hinder the removal of heavy metals by these ion exchangers were investigated. The presence of K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+ at 0.001-0.05 M concentration had minor effect on the amount of Pb2+, Cr3+, and Ni2+ uptake. EDTA on the other hand, interferes tremendously with the metal uptake. Both in ternary and in single system, the selectivity series is in the order: Pb2+>Cr3+>Ni2+. This order changed to Cr3+>Pb2+>Ni2+, in the presence of 0.001-0.1 M EDTA at pH 5.
CHEMICAL CONTAMINATION OF BEE HONEY – IDENTIFYING SENSOR OF THE ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION
2005
Changes in the quality of bee honey are also caused by the contamination with micro-polluting agents, toxic to consumers. This research is about chemical contamination of honey. The honey used in this study was harvested from beehives situated in Copşa Mica (Sibiu region), famous for the ecological unbalances induced by the non-ferrous metal industry through pollution produced by SC Sometra SA. The amount of Pb, Cd and Zn contained in the samples harvested in the area specifi ed above have been determined using an atomic absorption spectrometer AAS. Amounts of heavy metals above the admitted limit by the OMS 975/88 have been discovered. The results suggested that honey could be used to dete…
Model research on the influence of green roofs on environmental parameters in urban agglomerations
2018
The intensive development of urban agglomerations in Poland and other European countries has rendered the growth of biologically active areas more important with respect the quality of the urban environment. Taking the rapidly rising prices of plots in city centers into consideration, it is worth noting the vast surfaces of building roofs that can be used as biologically active areas. The term green roof is to be understood as an open, overgrown surface on a multilayer roof of a building. Green roofs can only be made on a planar surface with an inclination of 2% to 30%. In accordance with the type of usage, construction factors and maintenance requirements, green roofs are typically defined…
The Influence of Urban Agglomeration on the Accumulation of Certain Heavy Metal Ions in Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare L.)
2020
Different compounds including toxic heavy metals ions have been used in various industrial branches for ages. Therefore, these compounds are nowadays often identified in the natural environment. Plants usually function like indirect transporters through which heavy metals, in the form of ions, infiltrate from the environment into the human and animals’ food chains. The present paper studied the influence of urban agglomeration on the accumulation of certain heavy metals in tansy. The content of heavy metals ions (Cr, Ni, Cd and Pb) was marked in the tansy leaves. Depending on the location of sampling, large variations in the heavy metal content were observed in the plant material. The resea…
Optimal Solutions for the Use of Sewage Sludge on Agricultural Lands
2021
The use of sewage sludge in agriculture decreases the pressure on landfills. In Romania, massive investments have been made in wastewater treatment stations, which have resulted in the accumulation of important quantities of sewage sludge. The presence of these sewage sludges coincides with large areas of degraded agricultural land. The aim of the present article is to identify the best technological combinations meant to solve these problems simultaneously. Adapting the quality and parameters of the sludge to the specificity of the land solves the possible compatibility problems, thus reducing the impact on the environment. The physico-chemical characteristics of the fermented sludge were …
