Zajadkowate (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) Polski: przegląd systematyczny, rozmieszczenie, klucz do oznaczania / Assassin bugs (Hemiptera: Hete…

2019

This paper summarises the distribution of eleven species of the family Reduviidae in Poland basing on literature data and new re-cords. Coranus aethiops is for the first time reported from Poland. Moreover, the key for identification of species occurring in Poland is also provided. High quality graphics have been prepared for each species, and in some cases, photos from nature were also included.

New corological and biological data of the Red Gum Lerp Psyllid, Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore, 1964 in Italy (Hemiptera, Psyllidae)

2011

Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore, 1964 is a psyllid (Hemiptera: Psyllidae) pest of Eucalyptus, native toAustralia and first recorded in Europe: Spain in 2008 and more recently (2010) in Italy. The present paper dealswith recent research, carried out in central Italy, with new data on the distribution and biology of this species.

Redescription of the Oriental lace-bug Recaredus rex Distant, 1909 (Hemiptera: Tingidae: Tinginae), and its new tribal assignment, with a key to Ypso…

2013

One of the most enigmatic lace bug genera, Recaredus, was described by Distant (1909) from West Bengal in India. In its description, the author suggested (p. 361) that “this genus apart from the structure of the head has a considerable resemblance to Acalypta Westw., a Palaearctic genus; in the Indian enumeration it may be placed after Phatnoma and probably requires a divisional separation.”

Amnestus mendeli sp. n., the first burrower bug species (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae) recorded on Ascension Island, central Atlantic Ocean

2016

A new species of the genus Amnestus Dallas, 1851, Amnestus mendeli, is described from the cloud zone of Green Mountain, Ascension Island, and compared with its closest relatives, the Brazilian Amnestus lenkoi Froeschner, 1975 and Amnestus pequinus Froeschner, 1975. It is the first representative of the family Cydnidae recorded on the island thus far. The species is presumed to be an introduction from the Americas, but the hypothesis that it might be endemic to Ascension Island is also not excluded.

In BOLD we trust? A commentary on the reliability of specimen identification for DNA barcoding: a case study on burrower bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera…

2016

An assessment was performed regarding the accuracy of various types of data deposited in the Barcode of Life Data system (BOLD) related to the true bug family Cydnidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera). Taxonomic nomenclature and classification, identification reliability, and the correctness of the data provided in the “Taxon description” were analyzed and commented on with respect to both available versions of the BOLD system, i.e. version 3 and beta version 4. Numerous mistakes in taxonomy, the relevance of the taxa names, and species misidentifications in BOLD version 3 were found and, more importantly, similar errors were detected in BOLD version 4 as well. We suggest that if the BOLD system is…

Inventaire entomologiq…

Contribution to the knowledge of North-American species Hyperomyzus subgenus Neonasonovia (Aphididae, Aphidinae, Macrosiphini)

2017

American specimens of the Hyperomyzus subgenus Neonasonovia conserved in the collections of the Museum national d’Histoire naturelle (Paris, France) and the Natural History Museum (London, United Kingdom), have been studied. Data to complement previous descriptions of apterous and alate viviparous females of H. nabali and of apterous viviparae of H. nigricornis, H. inflatus, H. niger and H. pullatus , are presented. Apterous and alate virginogeniae females of H. nigricornis, alate viviparous females of H. inflatus, H. niger and H. pullatus, plus oviparous females of H. nabali , are described for the first time. The morphological and biological variability of H. pullatus is discussed. An ide…
