This paper proposes the X-Ray CT imaging as appropriate tool for investigating the capillary water absorption in sedimentary rocks. This technique, in fact, provides information useful for deeping the knowledge about of the porosity and the kinetics of the water capillary absorption in porous materials. The possibility to improve in non invasive manner, the understanding of this phenomenon, constitutes a fundamental aspect to take actions in the restoration and conservation of lapideous artifact and monuments from cultural heritages. La correcta aplicación de un procedimiento de prevención de impactos y protección al patrimonio arqueológico, desarrollado con motivo de la implantación de una línea eléctrica de alta tensión, permitió en 2013 el hallazgo de una necrópolis junto al Cerro de las Cabezas (Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real). Hasta el momento se desconocía la localización del área funeraria de este gran oppidum. This contribution aims to deepen the knowledge of a historical and artistic heritage of the city of Palermo, i.e. the Arab-Norman civil architecture, yet not adequately utilized, despite its importance as a World Heritage Site'. Within the three royal parks (the Old, the New and the Genoardo), the Norman kings built the palaces of Maredolce, Zisa, Cuba and Scibene, always accompanied by water, both as a lake or as a fishpond, whose purpose was primarily hedonistic as well as productive.
