Peer relationships of pupils with and without individualized education plans in co-teaching and maistream educational settings
2009
Pupils with special educational needs have been shown to experience more problems in peer relationships than their peers. Comparative research across different educational settings has been limited though. The purpose of this study was to compare the peer relationships of fifth-graders with and without individualized education plans (IEP) in co-teaching and mainstream educational settings. Peer relationships were operationalized as peer acceptance, friendship and, as a subjective response to peer relationships, the level of loneliness. Pupils with IEPs (n = 31) and pupils without IEPs (n = 181) from two coteaching and eight mainstream classes participated in the study. In the spring of Year…

2012
10 th Conference of the European Sociological Association – ESA Social relations in turbulent times GENEVA September 2011 Globalization has dispersed along several different lines of action the historical concepts of war and enemy. Yet globalization has also changed the way in which victims are figuratively and symbolically produced. The expatriate’s family as a stakeholder of the firm : a responsibility viewpoint
2016
In this paper we argue for the recognition of the expatriate’s family as a stakeholder of the firm during the expatriation. We demonstrate why the expatriate’s family can be regarded as a stakeholder of the parent company and what kind of a stakeholder the family is. Additionally, we argue that the parent company needs to develop and apply a holistic well-being orientation to show stakeholder responsibility in the international assignment (IA) arena. We apply the theory of stakeholder salience to the IA relationship because it provides a theoretical framework for integrating the family into the expatriation process. Yet this theory does not necessarily provide a framework for assessing the …

Digital resources in the current journalistic narrative: Uses and limitations of hypertext, multimedia and interactivity
2020
Characterised by its multilingual and multiformat features, the multimedia journalism narrative is shaping a new ‘archaeology of composition’ (Manovich, 2005), also called the ‘new textuality’ (Anichini, 2003). As digital media celebrates its 25th anniversary (Salaverría, 2019), this research aims to examine the current state of the multimedia narrative in journalism. The defining elements of this narrative in the generalist information media have been analysed through the observation of hypertextual, multimedia and interactive resources. The methodology used is content analysis, allowing for both the systemization and description of the predominant parameters through the comparative study …
L’istinto della bellezza. Carlo Scarpa a Palermo. Studi sullo Steri. 1972-1978
2022
