H2-Antihistaminika, 35. Mitt. Synthese und H2-antagonistische Wirkung imidazolylmethylthioalkyl-substituierter 1,2,4-Triazole
1987
Es wurden mono-, di- und trisubstituierte 1,2,4-Triazolderivate dargestellt und auf Histamin-H2-antagonistische Aktivitat untersucht. H2-Antihistaminics, XXXV: Synthesis and H2-Antagonistic Activity of Imidazolylmethylthioalkyl-Substituted 1,2,4-Triazoles Mono-, di- and trisubstituted 1,2,4-triazoles were prepared and tested for histamine H2-antagonistic activity.

1980
Structure-Activity Relationship of Histamine Analogues. XXII: Absolute Configuration and Histamine-like Activity of the Enantiomeric α, Nα-Dimethylhistamines The synthesis of the enantiomeric α, Nα-Dimethylhistamines (+)—3 and (−)—3, the determination of the absolute configuration and the histamine-like activity of the enantiomers on the guinea-pig ileum (H1) and atrium (H2) are reported.
2-Substituierte Histamine 3. Mitt. über Struktur-Wirkungs-Beziehungen bei Histaminanaloga
1974
Es wurden verschiedene 2-substituierte Histaminderivate aus den entsprechenden 2-substituierten Imidazol-4-carbinolen dargestellt und am isolierten Ileum des Meerschweinchens auf ihre histaminartige Wirkung untersucht. 2-Substituted Histamines Some 2-substituted derivatives of histamine were synthesized from 2-substituted imidazole-4-carbinols. The histamine- or antihistamine — like activity of the resulting compounds was tested on isolated guinea pig ileum.

Theoretical study of selective H3 receptor antagonists of histamine
1993
Abstract The conformations and charge distributions of three selective H3 receptor antagonists of histamine were determined using the MNDO approach. The results suggest that the conformational flexibilities of betahistine, N α-(2-phenylacetyl)histamine and thioperamide are different; however, the low-energy conformations of these compounds show closely related spatial orderings. The MNDO calculations predict a significant population of the N1H form in the imidazole systems of N α-(2-phenylacetyl)histamine and thioperamide. Our results indicate that the conformational behaviour of H3 antagonists is closely similar to that reported for H2 antagonists of histamine. These results emphasize the …
Is there a role for antileukotrienes in urticaria?
2006
In vitro and in vivo clinical and experimental data have suggested that leukotrienes play a key role in inflammatory reactions of the skin. Antileukotriene drugs, i.e. leukotriene receptor antagonists and synthesis inhibitors, are a new class of anti-inflammatory drugs that have shown clinical efficacy in the management of asthma. We searched the MedLine database and carried out a manual search on journals specializing in allergy and dermatology for the use of antileukotriene drugs in urticaria. Montelukast might be effective in chronic urticaria associated with aspirin or food additive hypersensitivity or with autoreactivity to intradermal serum injection when taken with an antihistamine b…

Food allergy in gastroenterologic diseases: Review of literature
2007
Food allergy is a common and increasing problem worldwide. The newly-found knowledge might provide novel experimental strategies, especially for laboratory diagnosis. Approximately 20% of the population alters their diet for a perceived adverse reaction to food, but the application of double-blind placebo-controlled oral food challenge, the “gold standard” for diagnosis of food allergy, shows that questionnaire-based studies overestimate the prevalence of food allergies. The clinical disorders determined by adverse reactions to food can be classified on the basis of immunologic or nonimmunologic mechanisms and the organ system or systems affected. Diagnosis of food allergy is based on clini…
Current Concepts in Therapy of Chronic Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyposis
2004
The exact pathophysiological mechanisms leading to chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) still to a large extent remain obscure. However, recently there has been some progress in elucidating the etiology of nasal polyposis, especially regarding tissue eosinophilia as well as the role of aspirin intolerance and eicosanoid mediators. Endonasal sinus surgery has evolved to be the treatment of choice in CRS and nasal polyposis in all cases where conservative treatment has failed or resulted in only a partial or temporary relief. Today, state of the art in surgical technique includes the ability to combine microscopic and endoscopic procedures. Regardless of technical advances like powered instrumentatio…
Lack of Association Between Rs2067474 Polymorphism in the Histamine Receptor H2 Gene and Gastric Cancer In Latvian Population
2018
Abstract Histamine has an important role in the process of the gastric mucosa inflammation acting via histamine receptor H2 (encoded by the gene HRH2). Single nucleotide polymorphism of the enhancer element of HRH2 gene promoter rs2067474 (1018G>A)may be associated with changes of expression of the receptor. We attempted to clarify the association of this polymorphism with gastric cancer and/or atrophic gastritis in the Latvian (Caucasian) population. The study group consisted of 121 gastric cancer patients and 650 patients with no evidence of gastric neoplasia on upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Genotyping for rs2067474 was performed with the TaqMan probe-based system using a commercia…
