Rhogocytes (pore cells) as the site of hemocyanin biosynthesis in the marine gastropod Haliotis tuberculata.

Rhogocytes (pore cells) are specific molluscan cell types that are scattered throughout the connective tissues of diverse body parts. We have identified rhogocytes in large numbers in tissue taken from mantle, foot and midgut gland of the abalone Haliotis tuberculata (Vetigastropoda). Within cisternae of the endoplasmic reticulum, particles are visible that resemble, in shape and size, hemocyanin molecules, the respiratory protein of many molluscs. Immunohistochemical experiments using hemocyanin-specific antibodies demonstrated that these cells contain hemocyanin. Silk-based matrices and c-Kit positive cardiac progenitor cells for a cellularized silk fibroin scaffold: study of an in vivo model.

The production of a cellularized silk fibroin scaffold is very difficult because it is actually impossible to differentiate cells into a well-organized cardiac tissue. Without vascularization, not only do cell masses fail to grow, but they may also exhibit an area of necrosis, indicating a lack of oxygen and nutrients. Sport Intervention Programs (SIPs) to Improve Health and Social Inclusion in People with Intellectual Disabilities: A Systematic Review.

Inactivity is a major issue that causes physical and psychological health problems, especially in people with intellectual disability (ID). This review discusses the beneficial effects of sport intervention programs (SIPs) in people with ID, and aims to provide an overview of the scientific literature in order to identify the main factors influencing the participation of people with ID in SIPs. Twelve papers were analyzed and compared. A 47-Year Comparison of Lower Body Muscular Power in Spanish Boys: A Short Report

Much of the evidence examining temporal trends in fitness among youth has found a decrease in measures of muscular strength and muscular power over recent decades. The aim of this study was to examine trends in lower body muscular power in Spanish boys over 47 years. In 1969 140 boys (10–11 years; body mass index = 19.24, SD = 2.91 kg/m2) and in 2016, 113 boys (10–11 years; body mass index = 19.20, SD = 3.15 kg/m2) were recruited. Lower body power was assessed using the vertical jump (VJ) and standing long jump (SLJ) tests. This role is played in both the structural domain, prefrontal cortex area, and in the functional domain, involving the higher cognitive functions, including the executive functions (EF).
