Bartomeu de Tresbens was a physician, astrologer and philosopher at the service of two kings of the Crown of Aragon, Peter IV the Ceremonious and his son, Duke John, the future John I the Hunter, between 1360 and 1375, approximately. His major work of astrological content has hardly been studied, except for the Llibre de les nativitats (Book of Nativities). Similarly, most of his biography is not known. The documents, which are mainly the correspondence of its relationship with the monarchy, are preserved, but also other records that connect him to the municipalities of Barcelona and Cervera. Ahead of the publication of his forthcoming book, Shakespeare Seen: Image, Performance and Society (Cambridge, 2018), Stuart Sillars sat down for an interview with Perry McPartland. The discussion revisited a number of topics that Sillars has explored in his various publications on Shakespeare, including Shakespeare’s aesthetic strategies of transformation, the relationship his work takes to the visual, and the uses to which Shakespeare puts aesthetic artifice. The interview was conducted in two parts over a very nearly adequate Skype connection in the summer of 2018.

Discussions of Fatherhood in Male Batterer Treatment Group

The aim of this study was to examine how men who have perpetrated violence toward their partners and participated in batterer group talked about being a father and how they perceived their own fatherhood. The discussion in the group was analyzed qualitatively by using the methods of content analysis. In traditional fatherhood, they talked about avoidant, passiveness, distant, indifference, and authoritative controlling ways of acting. These men also created an image of themselves as active and caring fathers, thus including empathy and nurture in the concept of fatherhood. Virtudes escolares percibidas por estudiantes y docentes ecuatorianos: diferencias según sexo, establecimiento y roles

El objetivo del estudio es evaluar la virtuosidad percibida en organizaciones escolares y las diferencias por tipo de centro educativo (fiscal, municipal); sexo (mujer, hombre) y rol (estudiantes, docentes). Se trató de un estudio instrumental basado en el análisis de la estructura factorial y la fiabilidad de un cuestionario para evaluar virtudes percibidas en escuelas (VPOE); y, de un estudio descriptivo transversal que analizó diferencias por sexo, rol y tipo de organizaciones escolares con relación a las virtudes percibidas.
