Exploring the role of obsessive-compulsive relevant self-worth contingencies in obsessive-compulsive disorder patients.
2011
Abstract This article examines whether self-worth contingencies in the personal domains of cleanliness, morality, hoarding, certainty, accuracy, religion and respect for others have specific associations with obsessive symptoms and cognitions in individuals with obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD). Fifty-seven patients with a primary diagnosis of OCD completed the Obsessional Concerns and Self Questionnaire (OCSQ), designed to assess the extent to which respondents consider OCD content domains relevant to their self-worth, along with a battery of other instruments. Results indicate that the OCSQ is more associated with OCD than with non-OCD anxiety symptoms, and that it is also associated w…
Application of Modified Tafel Analysis to the Identification of Corrosion Products on Archaeological Metals Using Voltammetry of Microparticles
2011
Voltammetry of microparticles is applied to the identification of lead corrosion products by means of an essentially non-invasive 'one-touch' technique based on the use of graphite pencil. This methodology permits the mechanical attachment of few nanograms of sample from the surface of lead archaeological artefacts to a paraffin-impregnated graphite electrode, which, upon immersion in aqueous electrolytes, provides distinctive voltammetric responses for litharge and cotunnite- anglesite-, cerusite-based corrosion products. The reported method is applied to the identification of corrosion products in archaeological lead pieces from different Iberian sites in Valencia (Spain). © 2011 WILEY-VC…
HISPANIC HOARDS FROM ALVARELHOS TO TOMARES: A HISTORICAL REVIEW
2020
With this contribution we would like offer a first and brief approximation about the Hispanic Coin Hoards, roughly dated between the reigns of Augustus and the end of the Tetrarchy. We will focus solely on the imperial hoards found in the Iberian Peninsula. In a chained, diachronic and casuistic way, we offer an analysis according to a series of variables: historical events, archaeological context, pattern of hoarding and functionality. For the data collection, in the present chapter we do not intend to be exhaustive. We will cite the most outstanding examples of Hispanic-Roman Hoarding, in order to understanding the historical-economic evolution from Iberian Peninsula. With this contributio…
Carp’s-tongue swords - morphological, metallurgical and cultural aspects
2010
This contribution discusses the results from a study of the spatial distribution of different morphological sub-groups of carp’s-tongue swords at a European scale, relating morphological types to the metallurgial make-up of the respective pieces. From this study some surprising conclusions concerning the chronological as well as the spatial dimension of the evolution of carp’s-tongue swords emerge. We also look at the degree of variability in the deposition of these artefacts and in the composition of the assemblages in question, with considerable repercussions for our understanding of the depositional contexts of metal objects in the Atlantic Bronze Age world in general.
Un ripostiglio inedito dall’insediamento di Balate di Marianopoli (Caltanissetta)
2012
The subject of the contribution is a small hoard of 38 coins discovered during the excavations of 1986 in the anellenic center of Balate di Marianopoli (CL). The study examines the composition of the hoard, which also includes a rare specimen with the signature of the engraver Kimon, specifying the date of burial on the basis of the contextual material and proposing a historical interpretation
Dépôts de bronzes et relations visuelles autour du Camp du Château à Salins-les-Bains (Jura, France) à la fin du Bronze moyen et au début du Bronze f…
2017
Systematic field surveys have been carried out in the surroundings of the Camp du Château near Salins-les-Bains for several years. These investigations led to the discovery of forty-odd hoards dating mainly from the end of the Middle Bronze Age and the beginning of the Late Bronze Age. The good accuracy of their localization allows us to study how they were integrated into the landscape. Their positioning suggests that the choice of location favored topographical criteria. We are interested in the question of intervisibility between the place of hoarding and the remarkable points of the natural and social landscape, especially the hill-forts. The results of GIS analysis show the constitutio…
Reliability of the representation of a distribution: a case-study on Middle Bronze Age metal finds in the Seine valley
2013
International audience; Controlling the uncertainties and the documentary lacks of an archaeological corpus should be the priority to interpret correctly the data distribution. The conception of a reliability map in order to estimate the quality of the inventory, the creation of a representation map so as to highlight the over- and under-representations and finally their combination, the confidence map, are efficient tools to spot out the zones concerning which there is a risk for a defective interpretation. We propose here, an application on a case-study of Middle Bronze Age metal hoards and isolated finds, for which the only really determining factor is the possibility for discoveries sin…
Fossilized Bronze, Invisible Bronze
2023
The systematic field surveys carried out since the beginning of the 2000s around the fortified site of the Camp du Château at Salins-les-Bains (Jura, France) have led to the discovery of 74 Bronze Age hoards, a density rarely observed in France. Dating from the beginning of the Middle Bronze Age to the Late Bronze Age, this dataset is unique as it provides detailed information on the composition of the hoards and their distribution within a defined territorial and chronological framework. These hoards are mainly made up of fragments, as around 90% of the objects are broken. This is deliberate and seems to correspond to a codified ritual of destruction which could be related to the notion of …

Psychometric properties of saving cognition inventory in Italian nonclinical samples
2020
The main purpose of the study was aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Saving Cognition Inventory (SCI) in Italian nonclinical samples. Two studies were conducted: (a) study 1 was focused on the confirmation of the factorial structure, internal consistency reliability, and subscales' intercorrelations on a sample of 252 participants; (b) study 2 was focused on gathering construct validity data on a sample of 244 participants. In addition to the SCI, other seven self-report measures were administered in order to assess hoarding, depression, anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms. Our results supported the hypothesis of four adequately reliable dimensions. Support …
