Aroma–taste interactions and heterogeneous spatial distribution of tastants were used as strategies for taste enhancement. This study investigated the combination of these two strategies through the effect of heterogeneous salt and aroma distribution on saltiness enhancement and consumer liking for hot snacks. Four-layered cream-based products were designed with the same total amount of sodium and ham aroma but varied in their spatial distribution. Objectives The purpose of this study was to illustrate the baseline appearance and enhancement patterns of splenic hemangiomas on contrast-enhanced sonography. Methods Two experienced radiologists retrospectively reviewed by consensus baseline and contrast-enhanced sonographic examinations of 27 patients (14 women and 13 men; mean age, 58.7 years) with 27 splenic hemangiomas (mean size, 2 cm) confirmed by splenectomy, biopsy, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging and follow-up. In the present study data on the frequency of non-specific electrodermal responses (NSRs) are presented for a large and, with regard to sex, age and educational level, homogeneous sample of male students (n = 590). These data were obtained in 9 independent experiments in which NSRs were recorded under equivalent conditions. NSRs were scored as skin conductance changes greater than 0.02 muSiemens. Fatty replacement of bone marrow after radiation therapy for Hodgkin disease: Quantification with chemical shift imaging

The authors studied the long-term fatty replacement of bone marrow in 23 patients who had received radiation therapy for Hodgkin disease, with T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and quantitative chemical shift imaging. T1-weighted images revealed a mostly homogeneous high-signal-intensity pattern, in contrast to the hypointense pattern of nonirradiated marrow. The degree of fatty replacement was objectively assessed with chemical shift imaging, comparing patients to age-matched healthy volunteers.
