In this contribution, new data concerning the Italian distribution of alien vascular flora are presented. It includes new records, exclusions and confirmations for Italy or for Italian administrative regions for taxa in the genera Ageratum, Aster, Buddleja, Cedrus, Centranthus, Cephalotaxus, Clerodendrum, Cotoneaster, Cyperus, Honorius, Lantana, Ligustrum, Morus, Muscari, Oenothera, Opuntia, Platycladus, Plumbago, Pseudotsuga, Sedum, Sporobolus, Stachys, Ulmus and Yucca. A nomen novum, Stachys talbotii, is proposed as a replacement name for Sideritis purpurea.
Review of imaging network activities in developing rodent cerebral cortex in vivo

The combination of voltage-sensitive dye imaging (VSDI) with multielectrode array (MEA) recordings in the rodent cerebral cortex in vivo allows the simultaneous analysis of large-scale network interactions and electrophysiological single-unit recordings. Using this approach, distinct patterns of spontaneous and sensory-evoked activity can be recorded in the primary somatosensory (S1) and motor cortex (M1) of newborn rats. Already at the day of birth, gamma oscillations and spindle bursts in the barrel cortex synchronize the activity of a local columnar ensemble, thereby generating an early topographic representation of the sensory periphery. Solemne acte de d'investidura com a "Honoris Causa" per la Universitat de València al oncòleg José Baselga Torres, catedràtic de Medicina de Harvard i cap del Departament d'Oncologia de l'hospital de Massachusetts . La sessió solemne s'ha celebrat al Paranimf de l'edifici històric de La Nau, i la laudatio ha estat a càrrec d'Andrés Cervantes, professor de Medicina de la Universitat de València. La professora Anna Lluch ha actuat, juntament a Andrés Cervantes, com a padrina del professor Baselga.

La presente Tesis Doctoral ha tenido como objeto el estudio exhaustivo y sistematizado de la jurisprudencia emanada del Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos (TEDH) respecto al derecho a la libertad de expresión (en sentido amplio) y al derecho al honor y, en especial, de aquélla que establece los criterios utilizados por dicho organismo para ponderar ambos derechos cuando entran en conflicto. Ya adelantamos la dificultad que presenta dicha sistematización, debido a la casuística en que se basa la jurisprudencia. One of the main principles of arbitration is that the arbitral tribunal must be independent, impartial, neutral and diligent in carrying out its duties throughout the arbitration proceedings. However, the sophistication and complexity of arbitration as an extra-judicial dispute resolution procedure can undermine confidence in the efficiency of the system. In this regard, the professional (arbitral) ethics and the honourability of the arbitrator are of major importance.
