Hurwitz spaces of coverings with two special fibers and monodromy group a Weyl group of typeBd
2012
f! Y; where is a degree-two coverings with n1 branch points and branch locus D and f is a degree-d coverings with n2 points of simple branching and two special points whose local monodromy is given by e and q, respectively. Furthermore the covering f has monodromy group Sd and f. D /\ D fD? where D f denotes the branch locus of f . We prove that the corresponding Hurwitz spaces are irreducible under the hypothesis n2 s r dC 1.
Transitive factorizations in the hyperoctahedral group
2008
The classical Hurwitz enumeration problem has a presentation in terms of transitive factor- izationsin the symmetric group. This presentationsuggestsageneralizationfromtypeAto otherfinite reflection groups and, in particular, to type B.W e study this generalization both from ac ombinatorial and a geometric point of view, with the prospect of providing am eans of understanding more of the structure of the moduli spaces of maps with an S2-symmetry. The type A case has been well studied and connects Hurwitz numbers to the moduli space of curves. W ec onjecture an analogous setting for the type B case that is studied here. 1I ntroduction Transitive factorizations of permutations into transposit…
Extension of a Schur theorem to groups with a central factor with a bounded section rank
2013
Abstract A well-known result reported by Schur states that the derived subgroup of a group is finite provided its central factor is finite. Here we show that if the p-section rank of the central factor of a locally generalized radical group is bounded, then so is the p-section rank of its derived subgroup. We also give an explicit expression for this bound.
A note on coverings with special fibres and monodromy group $ S_{d}$
2012
We consider branched coverings of degree over with monodromy group , points of simple branching, special points and fixed branching data at the special points, where is a smooth connected complex projective curve of genus , and , are integers with . We prove that the corresponding Hurwitz spaces are irreducible if .
A note on the exterior centralizer
2009
The notion of the exterior centralizer \({C_G^{^\wedge}(x)}\) of an element x of a group G is introduced in the present paper in order to improve some known results on the non-abelian tensor product of two groups. We study the structure of G by looking at that of \({C_G^{^\wedge}(x)}\) and we find some bounds for the Schur multiplier M(G) of G.
Citocentrifugación como un método adicional para estudiar celomitos de equinodermos: un enfoque comparativo que combina células vivas, preparaciones …

Abstract Introduction: Echinoderm coelomocytes have traditionally been investigated through a morphological approach using light microscopy, which relies on the idea of constant cell shape as a stable character. However, this can be affected by biotic or abiotic conditions. Objective: To analyze if the consistency in cell morphology offered by the cytocentrifugation method, might be used as a convenient tool to study echinoderm coelomocytes. Methods: Cells of Echinaster (Othilia) brasiliensis (Asteroidea), Holothuria (Holothuria) tubulosa (Holothuroidea), Eucidaris tribuloides, Arbacia lixula, Lytechinus variegatus, and Echinometra lucunter (Echinoidea) were spread on microscope slides by c…
Small-angle neutron scattering reveals an oxygen-dependent conformational change of the immunogen keyhole limpet hemocyanin type 1 (KLH1).
2001
The respiratory protein of the keyhole limpet, Megathura crenulata, the hemocyanin (KLH), commonly used as an immunogen, binds oxygen cooperatively, which implies the existence of different conformations. For the first time, two different conformations of KLH1 were detected upon oxygenation, a deoxy and an oxy state, using small-angle neutron scattering. Rearrangements in the quaternary structure of KLH1 were predicted from the different radii of gyration and the shifts of the minima and maxima in the scattering curves. Upon oxygenation, KLH1 becomes smaller and more compact. Model reconstruction of KLH1 indicates a hollow cylinder with two rings located close to both ends, which move sligh…
The contribution proposes an analytical description of the Miscellaneous manuscript of Greek rites (Branc. I.B.6) preserved at the National Library of Naples. The code collects the consultation activities of the Congregatio…

In 1830, Belgian Catholics and Liberals had together adopted a constitution that declared the separation of church and state. The constitutional efforts of the Catholics in Belgium, Ireland, and Poland helped convince Hugues Felicite Lamennais (1782-1854) to give up his traditionalist demands in favor of liberal and democratic ones, which he defended in the journal L’Avenir (1830/31). Lamennais can be credited with being the first theorist to draw up a body of principles justifying from a Christian perspective a constitutional order that includes basic liberal rights and the separation of church and state.
