On the exterior degree of the wreath product of finite abelian groups

The exterior degree $d^\wedge(G)$ of a finite group $G$ has been recently introduced by Rezaei and Niroomand in order to study the probability that two given elements $x$ and $y$ of $G$ commute in the nonabelian exterior square $G \wedge G$. This notion is related with the probability $d(G)$ that two elements of $G$ commute in the usual sense. Motivated by a paper of Erovenko and Sury of 2008, we compute the exterior degree of a group which is the wreath product of two finite abelian $p$--groups ($p$ prime). We find some numerical inequalities and study mostly abelian $p$-groups.

Il saggio prende le mosse dalla concezione dell'arte espressa da Arthur Schopenhauer nel "Mondo come volontà e rappresentazione" (1818; IIa ed. 1844), soffermandosi in maniera particolare sul Capitolo 52 e sull'idea di un'interpretazione metafisica della musica. Tale ipotesi viene messa in rapporto con l'esperienza compositiva di Richard Wagner a partire dalla concezione del "Ring des Nibelungen" e con particolare riferimento al linguaggio armonico di "Tristan und isolde". In nota viene riportato il frammento di una lettera di Richard Wagner ad Arthur Schopenhauer, databile intorno al 1857.
Investigation of Flow and Heat Transfer in Corrugated-Undulated Plate Heat Exchangers

An experimental and numerical investigation of heat transfer and fluid flow was conducted for corrugated-undulated plate heat exchanger configurations under transitional and weakly turbulent conditions. For a given geometry of the corrugated plates the geometrical characteristics of the undulated plates, the angle formed by the latter with the main flow direction, and the Reynolds number were made to vary. Distributions of the local heat transfer coefficient were obtained by using liquid-crystal thermography, and surface-averaged values were computed; friction coefficients were measured by wall pressure tappings. Effect of freezing/thawing process in different sizes of blue fish in the Mediterranean through lysosomal enzymatic tests

The assessment of freshness of different sizes of blue fish (Engraulis encrasicolus 12 cm, Sardina pilchardus 15 cm, Trachurus trachurus 40 cm, Scomber japonicus colias 60 cm) was carried out using non-conventional enzymatic methods. The activities of the three lysosomal enzymes (α-glucosidase (AG), β-galactosidase (B-GAL) and β-N-acetylglucosamidase (B-NA)) in extracts of blue fish muscle were measured over a period of 21 days of storage. A significant increase (p < 0.05) of AG activity was observed in all species, with a large increase seen after only one day of storage.
