Abstract:Given the sharp distinction that follows from Hume’s Fork, the proper epistemic status of propositions of mixed mathematics seems to be a mystery. On the one hand, mathematical propositions concern the relation of ideas. They are intuitive and demonstratively certain. On the other hand, propositions of mixed mathematics, such as in Hume’s own example, the law of conservation of momentum, are also matter of fact propositions. They concern causal relations between species of objects, and, in this sense, they are not intuitive or demonstratively certain, but probable or provable. Han sido seleccionadas seis muestras de horizontes superficiales de diferentes tipos de suelos mediterráneos. SUMMARY The halfmoon-sign is described. It consists of typically shaped fragments seen on the lateral view of the elbow in the area around the fossa radialis. With rare exceptions, the halfmoon sign is indicative of fracture of the distal humerus in the coronal plane, most commonly involving the capitulum humeri.

Objectives: Two 90-degree configurations of locking reconstruction plates with different numbers of screws in the distal ulnar column segment of distal extra-articular humeral fractures with metaphyseal comminution (A3) were biomechanically investigated. Methods: Eight pairs of fresh-frozen human humeri were used. For paired comparison, the humeri were divided into 2 randomized groups. DNA barcoding facilitates many evolutionary and ecological studies, including the examination of the dietary diversity of herbivores. In this study, we present a survey of ecological associations between herbivorous beetles and host plants from seriously threatened European steppic grasslands.
