Influence of land use on the characteristics of humic substances in some tropical soils of Nigeria

Summary In highly weathered tropical conditions, soil organic matter is important for soil quality and productivity. We evaluated the effects of deforestation and subsequent arable cropping on the qualitative and quantitative transformation of the humic pool of the soil at three locations in Nigeria. Cultivation reduced the humic pool in the order: acetone-soluble hydrophobic fraction (HE) > humic acid (HA) > humin (HU) > fulvic acid (FA), but not to the same degree at all three sites. The C and N contents, as well as the C/N ratios of humic extracts, were large and not substantially influenced by land use. A romániai bánsági (bánáti) tolerancia és többnyelvűség a nyelvi ideológiák tükrében

A trianoni békeszerződés által feldarabolt Bánság etnikailag talán legtarkább vidéke napjainkban a Romániához csatolt területeknek. Ezen a vidéken volt lehetőségem terepmunkát végezni három nyári tanulmányút keretében (1998–2000). A finn–magyar terepmunkacsoport érdeklődési köre több területre terjedt ki. Kutatási területünk a romániai Bánságon belül az Arad, Lippa és Temesvár alkotta háromszög volt. During speech perception, listeners rely on multimodal input and make use of both auditory and visual information. When presented with speech, for example syllables, the differences in brain responses to distinct stimuli are not, however, caused merely by the acoustic or visual features of the stimuli.
