Il saggio studia l’uso dei dispositivi di rinforzo ligneo nelle architetture siciliane d’età moderna ponendo criticamente a confronto documenti di fabbrica, brani tratti dai trattati d’architettura, siciliani e non, e contributi offerti dalla letteratura storica non specialistica. Lo studio evidenzia la persistenza e le peculiarità d’uso di una tecnica che, molto diffusa in area mediterranea, in Sicilia si configura come una “invariante” del repertorio costruttivo tradizionale.

Yarrowia lipolytica can grow on many hydrophobic substrates and metabolize them via the β-oxidation pathway or store them into lipid bodies. The first contact between the cell and the hydrophobic substrates is by the cell wall. In this step, cell-wall proteins (CWP), β-glucane and chitin of the cell wall could play an important role for the adhesion and uptake of hydrophobic substrates. The aim of this work was to study the effect of a hydrophobic carbon source (compared with glucose) and the culture medium composition on the cell wall composition and the melanin production by Y. lipolytica. Cell wall proteins are central to the virulence of Candida albicans. Hwp1, Hwp2 and Rbt1 form a family of hypha-associated cell surface proteins. Hwp1 and Hwp2 have been involved in adhesion and other virulence traits but Rbt1 is still poorly characterized. To assess the role of Rbt1 in the interaction of C. albicans with biotic and abiotic surfaces independently of its morphological state, heterologous expression and promoter swap strategies were applied. International audience; D'abord repérée d'avion, puis fouillée sur l'emprise d'une gravière, la nécropole néolithique de Passy couvre plus de 20 hectares. Elle se compose d'une trentaine de grands monuments allongés, orientés à l'Est, et construits de terre et de bois. Les défunts, déposés sur le dos dans de probable coffres, reposaient dans des fosses profondes creusées dans l'axe des monuments. Les dépôts funéraires, qui comprennent des objets anthropomorphes, permettent d'attribuer ces sépultures au groupe de Cerny. L'etimologia della pre-eclampsia rimane ancora oggi sconosciuta ma sappiamo abbastanza sulla sua fisiopatologia, da consentire l'adozione di presidi terapeutici atti ad espletare un controllo sintomatologico della sindrome ma non a curarla. Nel presente lavoro ci siamo posti l'obiettivo di valutare in corso di trattamento con ATIII l'andamento dei valori di CD95 dei linfociti del circolo periferico, in qualità di indicatore dei processi di apoptosi cellulare in una condizione di "Graft versus host disease", quale potrebbe considerarsi la gravidanza complicata da pre-eclampsia.
