Through a reading of cinematic cultural diplomacy in the post-World War II UNESCO context, this study focuses on the potential cinema holds for speaking to the politics of difference. Traditionally seen as problematic and conflictual, this study suggests that for UNESCO, difference is not the source of war and conflict, but of peace. Tutkimuksen aiheena ovat käännösstrategiat ja niiden käyttö Kari Hotakaisen Juoksuhaudantien (2002) ranskankielisessä käännöksessä Rue de la Tranchée (2005). Tutkimme, mitä strategioita kääntäjä Anne Colin du Terrail on käyttänyt kääntäessään teoksessa esiintyvät erisnimialluusiot ranskaksi. Tarkoituksenamme oli selvittää missä määrin kääntäjä on käyttänyt erisnimialluusioiden eri käännösstrategioita: säilyttämistä, korvaamista ja poistamista. Näiden strategioiden käyttömäärien pohjalta selvitimme, onko teos käännetty kotouttaen vai vieraannuttaen. Kotoutettu käännös häivyttää merkit siitä, että kyseessä on käännös. The «Elegia di madonna Fiammetta» has an evident impact of the story of Leandre and Hero, especially in the moments in which the lady suffers while waiting for her lover, who never comes. Fiammetta makes obvious this parallelism on several occasions, and manages to invent an end for the story loaded of pathos. Joan Roís de Corella realises about this relationship between both two works and makes the inverse path: he uses the tone and some narrative elements of the Elegia for writing his Leander and Hero. It is demonstrated that the so contreversial end of Corella’s story is not original of the Valencian, but it also depends on Boccaccio’s text

Sintaxi dels clítics pronominals en català medieval

In this article a classical topic of the studies on historical syntax is analysed: the enclitical or proclitical collocation of atonic pronouns in Catalan. From a Romanic and comparative prespective, it is shown that the clitical pronouns in Old Catalan have a very similar behaviour to the atonic ones in other Romanic lenguages such as, for instance, medieval Spanish or Portuguese, on one hand, and French, on the other. Specifically, we analyse phenomena such as: (i) pronoun collocation in connection to the verb in main and subordinate propositions, in propositions where the verb is the main constituent, in negative propositions, (ii) duplication of clitics or (iii) clitic raising.
