Production and optimization of exocellular lipases produced by Proteus mirabilis

2016

The Reason of Imagination. The Blazing Worlds of Margaret Cavendish and Siri Hustvedt

2020

One of the peculiarities of 17th and 18th centuries literature is the link between knowledge and imagination, a relationship in which narration sometimes accompanies science, sometimes goes beyond it. The idea of imagination as a true means of knowledge is the subject of Margaret Cavendish’s best known work, The Blazing World (1666), where her alter ego is free to built a whole social and philosophical system based on corporality and subjectivity. From the same conception of imagination starts Siri Hustvedt when in 2014 rewrites The Blazing World: the story of an artist who still in the twentieth century tries to face the overwhelming misogyny with the performance of the body and the theory…

Motor and Cognitive Performance in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis with Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy

2020

Minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) is associated with mild cognitive impairment and frailty. This study aims to identify cognitive and motor differences in cirrhotic patients with and without MHE, and the correlations between motor signs and cognitive performance. Gait, balance, hand strength and motor speed performance were evaluated in 66 cirrhotic patients (38 without and 28 with MHE, according to the Psychometric Hepatic Encephalopathy Score (PHES). Cognitive performance was measured with the Mini-Mental State Examination, Verbal Fluency Test, Aprendizaje Verbal España-Complutense Test (TAVEC), Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale III, Hamilton Depression and Anxiety Rating Scale and Fun…

Education for Health Back at School Age: The Role of Physical Education

2015

Traditionally, back problems have been addressed from the biomedical area. For a long time the "radiologic-anatomy model" has been considered unusable because they have failed to respond to knowledge about the source of pain or therapeutic approaches used have solved the reduced chronic pain or disability [1]. In this way, it was like the biomedical reductionist approach was replaced by the "biopsychosocial model" [1] which proposes that psychological and social factors along with biological variables in understanding a person's disease are included.

Isolated Anti-HBc: Significance and Management.

2019

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is prevalent worldwide and is associated with dramatic levels of morbidity and mortality. Isolated anti-HBc (IAHBc) is a particular serological pattern that is commonly found in immunocompromised patients. There is ongoing debate regarding the management of patients with IAHBc. Herein, we summarize the current guidelines and the newest evidence. The frequency of IAHBc is variable, with a higher prevalence in some populations, such as persons living with HIV and others immunocompromised patients. The risk of HBV reactivation depends on host factors (including immunosuppression) and viral factors. It is now well established that immunocompromised patients can…

Metathese et homonymie en hebreu biblique

2009

O analogiji i teoriji etimona u hebrejskome biblijskom leksiku

2012
