In this article, the research topic is to develop an evaluation model for social work with substance abusers. It is studied by presenting an example of how the evaluation process could be carried out in practice. The study has been implemented with the Department of Social Services and Health Care’s Centre for Recovering Substance Abusers in Finland (RSA Centre). Musiikinopettajien kokemuksia sosiaalisesta tuesta opettajayhteisössä

Tutkimuksessani selvitän musiikinopettajien kokemuksia sosiaalisesta tuesta heidän työyhteisöissään. Lähestyn sosiaalista tukea Housen määrittelemien tiedollisen, välineellisen ja emotionaalisen tuen näkökulmasta ja tarkaste-len musiikinopettajien kokemuksia niin vertaisilta kuin esimieheltä saadusta tuesta. Tutkimusmenetelmä on laadul-linen ja aineisto pohjautuu teemahaastatteluihin. Aineiston olen kerännyt haastattelemalla neljää musiikinopettajaa, joista kaksi työskentelee yläkoulussa, yksi lukiossa ja yksi sekä yläkoulussa että lukiossa. Expertise-by-Experience in Child and Family Services : Professionals' Perspectives on Experiential Knowledge

This study analyses child and family service professionals' perceptions of expertise-by-experience. Group and individual interviews with professionals were analysed. The analysis yielded three main dimensions of experiential knowledge: supportive peer knowledge; contested knowledge, in which education and talking among peers in small groups helps experts-by-experience to locate the limits of their knowledge before publicly disclosing their inner thoughts; and emotional knowledge, which is based on shared experiences of emotional challenges and vulnerability. Tutkimukseni kuvaa työikäisenä etenevään muistisairauteen sairastuneiden ihmisten elä-mää. Tutkimukseni tavoitteena on tuottaa tietoa työikäisenä muistisairauteen sairastunei-den ihmisten arjesta sekä määrittää sairastuneiden sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen elementtejä. Tutkimuksen päämääränä on nostaa esille sairastuneiden oma ääni ja kokemuksellinen asiantuntijuus. Tutkimuksen metodologisena lähestymistapana on narratiivisuus. Aineiston keruumene-telmänä käytetään narratiivista haastattelua. Haastatteluihin osallistuu viisi Alzheimerin tautiin sairastunutta ihmistä. Stability of social support during school transitions: Associations with truancy and not completing upper secondary education in normative time

Not completing upper secondary education is often presignaled by truancy from school. Student-perceived social support from family, peers, and teachers can prevent truancy and the risk of not completing education. However, prior studies have not focused on the stability of social support across school transitions. This longitudinal study of 1901 Finnish students examined the extent to which social support was stable or specific to primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools.
