First report of Diplodia africana on Grevillea robusta

Branch cankers and dieback were observed on silky-oak trees (Grevillea robusta) along some streets of Palermo (Sicily, Italy). Fungi isolated from symptomatic branches were identified as Diplodia africana and D. seriata by morphological characters and phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS and translation elongation factor 1-α sequences. Pathogenicity was verified by inoculating twigs of 3-y-old silky-oak plants. This is the first report of D. africana on G. robusta and the first record of D. seriata on this host in the northern hemisphere.

Essential oil extracted from dried aerial parts of Teucrium flavum ssp. flavum harvested in Zakynthos, Greece, was analysed by gas phase chomatography (GC) and gas chomatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The main constituents were caryophyllene (13.5%), caryophyllene oxide (8.5%), 4-vinyl guaiacol (6.0%) and α- humulene (5.0%).

<p>Coronary artery fistulas are rare anatomic abnormalities of the coronary arteries present in 0.002% of the general population and represent 14% of all anomalies of coronary arteries. Their clinical relevance focuses mainly on the mechanism of "coronary steal phenomenon”, causing myocardial functional ischemia even in the absence of stenosis, hence common symptoms are angina or dyspnea. La historia de Píramo y Tisbe narrada por Ovidio en Las metamorfosis ha dado lugar a un número importante de relatos sobre los dos amantes en la literatura medieval francesa. En este trabajo observamos la constelación francesa del relato ovidiano centrándonos en el tratamiento que ha tenido un elemento fundamental del universo de ficción ovidiana: su oscilación entre identificar y diferenciar a los dos amantes. Se observa en las versiones medievales francesas una marcada tendencia a individualizar al personaje femenino y darle más relieve, aunque no siempre ocurre así.
