Kulinaria w przestrzeni miasta : nowe trendy, nowe potrzeby mieszkańców
2015
The subject of this article is culinary trends observable in Polish cities during the past few years. They include both the rediscovered practices, directly related to the cultural (culinary) heritage of a particular area, and these which have become popular only recently. According to the author, characteristic culinary fads are: the promotion of local delicacies on a large scale, growing interest in shopping in farmers’ markets offering organic produce (bio-markets) and traditional goods, growing popularity of street food (including street food festivals and picnics), and organizing the so called “breakfast on the grass” events.

Two-Photon Absorption Properties and Structures of BODIPY and Its Dyad, Triad and Tetrad.
2018
A series consisting of a dyad, a triad and a tetrad containing either two, three and four BODIPY units, respectively, has been synthesized and fully characterized and compared to two mono-BODIPY analogs (used as references). The one- and two-photon photophysical properties have been measured and the X-ray structures of four of the BODIPY derivatives have been determined. In the 700-900 nm range, the two-photon absorption (TPA) cross sections range from 30 GM to 160 GM for these compounds.

A unified vegetation index for quantifying the terrestrial biosphere
2021
[EN] Empirical vegetation indices derived from spectral reflectance data are widely used in remote sensing of the biosphere, as they represent robust proxies for canopy structure, leaf pigment content, and, subsequently, plant photosynthetic potential. Here, we generalize the broad family of commonly used vegetation indices by exploiting all higher-order relations between the spectral channels involved. This results in a higher sensitivity to vegetation biophysical and physiological parameters. The presented nonlinear generalization of the celebrated normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) consistently improves accuracy in monitoring key parameters, such as leaf area index, gross prim…
The light-harvesting system of Euglena gracilis during the cell cycle
1989
The apoproteins of the light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein complexes LHCI and CP29 (apparent molecular weights of 27 kDa and 29 kDa, respectively) of Euglena gracilis were identified immunologically. Both complexes are present in the thylakoids of autotrophically cultured Euglena cells during the whole cell cycle. The relative amount of each apoprotein tends to increase towards the end of the cell cycle. The light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein complex of photosystem II, LHCII, of E. gracilis contains chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, neoxanthin, diadinoxanthin and beta-carotene. Its chlorophyll a/b ratio is about 1.7 during the whole cell cycle. About 9 h after cell division the ratio of diad…
The discrepancy between morphological and microanatomical patterns of anamniotic stegocephalian postcrania from the Early Permian Briar Creek Bonebed…
2015
Abstract The histological framework of thirteen Early Permian tetrapod long bones from a single locality, the Briar Creek Bonebed in Archer County, Texas, USA, is described from a series of transverse sections through the midshafts. The bones were morphologically categorized and belong to one of three taxa: Eryops, Archeria, and Diadectes. However, five histotypes are recognized. The first category includes the juvenile bone. The second histotype is characterized by the presence of radial vascular canals. The third histotype is characterized by the numerous longitudinal canals arranged in regular rows. In the fourth histotype, there is strong remodeling in the deep part of the cortex, creat…
