This chapter examines the conditions for the older population on Indian reservations and how those conditions compare to the non-Indian population. The discussion opens on a national level, though the focus is on tribes in the Western United States. Older Indians on reservations are aging in a society where they are an almost invisible part of rural America. Yet the reservations, despite the poor socioeconomic conditions on many, represent home and a place for off-reservation Native Americans to come back to. Background & Aims EPIC-3 is a prospective, international study that has demonstrated the efficacy of PEG-IFN alfa-2b plus weight-based ribavirin in patients with chronic hepatitis C and significant fibrosis who previously failed any interferon–alfa/ribavirin therapy. Specifics of pesticides effects on the phytopathogenic bacteria

The data concerning the effects of pesticides of different nature on the phytopathogenic bacteria was examined and summarized. Without extensive research on the mechanisms of interaction between pathogenic bacteria and pesticides in the literature review a similar message about microorganisms of soil and phyllosphere are included. Testing of the SPEDE conversion electron spectrometer at ISOLDE

Työssä testattiin uutta SPEDE-ilmaisinta CERNin ISOLDE-laboratorion MINIBALLkoeasemalla, jossa selvitetään ytimien rakenteita käyttämällä radioaktiivia suihkuja. Ilmaisimen testauksessa käytettiin radioaktiivisia Bi-207 ja Hg-191 lähteitä. SPEDE-ilmaisimella pystytään havaitsemaan sisäisen konversion elektroneja. Ytimen viritystilan purkautumisessa sisäinen konversio on kilpaileva prosessi tavanomaisemmalle γ-emissiolle. Sisäistä konversiota tutkimalla saadaan selvitettyä ytimen rakenteen ominaisuuksia kuten esimerkiksi E0-siirtymät ytimissä. Pētījuma dalībnieki ir 78 respondenti, sievietes vecumā no 18 līdz 48 gadiem. Respondenti ir bez hroniskām slimībām. Pētījuma metodē tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas. Aptauja par attieksmi pret ēšanu – EAT-40 (Eating Attitudes Test: Garner, et al.,1979), kura tiek adaptēta maģistra darba ietvēros S.Ozoliņas 2011.gadā. Attiecību stilu aptauja (Relationship Styles Questionnaire; Bartholomew, & Horowitz, 1991), aptaujas tulkošanas un aprobācijas procedūru veikusi I. Bite (1998). La fauna del pleistoceno inferior de la Sierra de Quibas (Abanilla, Murcia)

El yacimiento kárstico cuaternario de la Sierra de Quibas (Abanilla, Murcia) ha proporcionado una amplia lista faunística constituida por 53 especies repartidas entre gasterópodos, miriápodos, anfibios, reptiles, aves y mamíferos. En el conjunto de los gasterópodos destaca Palaeoglandina, un género que se extingue en el resto de Europa durante el Plioceno y que se mantiene como relicto en el Pleistoceno de la Península Ibérica. Dos de las especies de aves determinadas, Gypaetus barbatus y Gerontieus eremita, y una de las serpientes, Elaphe cf. E. sealaris, apenas se hallan representadas en el registro fósil.
