The chapter introduces Islamic feminism as a movement with a focus on three study cases from Egypt (Omaima Abou-Bakr), Iran (Ziba Mir-Hosseini), and the United States (Amina Wadud). In my section, I claim that besides being a social commitment, Islamic feminism is a form of moral cosmopolitanism, for it is a global and transnational movement. The advocacy of Islamic feminists is rooted in local contexts, at the same time they are involved in empowering international networks which allow them to meet activists from other domains, enforce their projects, share their experiences and work together for achieving their goals. The fossil burrower bug Eocenocydnus lisi described from the Late Eocene of the Isle of Wight, UK, is analysed using a parallel, cross-eyed viewing method. The species, tentatively placed in the subfamily Sehirinae, is redescribed and its systematic position is discussed. Newly recovered morphological characteristics allow it to be placed in the tribe Cydnini of the subfamily Cydninae.

In questa nota si prendono in esame quattro libri pubblicati tra il 2018 e il 2020 che affrontano il tema da prospettive differenti come il ruolo politico degli ebrei nell'Italia liberale e negli anni della grande guerra, la storia delle persecuzioni in età fascista, il problematico avvento della Repubblica, la raffigurazione degli ebrei e di Israele nelle sinistre italiane e la più generale percezione di Israele nel mondo politico e culturale italiano.

The work takes its starting point from Libanius, Or. 46, 21, in which the existence of a contribution paid by shopkeepers and intended for the sustenance of the poor is attested in 4th century AD Antioch. In the light of the comparative textual analysis of Julian's letter to Arsace and Libanius' speeches 2 and 46, it is hypothesised that the emperor had urged the Antiochians to request some measure that could take away the privilege of almsgiving from the Church. To the request, formally made to him by the Antiochians, he would have responded with that rescript whose content would be entrusted only to these few Libanian lines.

Działalność biskupa Hryhoryja Chomyszyna na rzecz latynizacji Cerkwi greckokatolickiej

Błogosławiony Grzegorz Chomyszyn był ukraińskim greckokatolickim biskupem i męczennikiem. Urodził się 25 marca 1867 r. w wiosce Hadyńkowce, we wschodniej Galicji. W 1904 r. został wyświęcony na biskupa Stanisławowa. Chomyszyn uważał, że Cerkiew greckokatolicka powinna przyjąć więcej tradycji zachodnich, aby podkreślić związek unickiej Cerkwi z Rzymem. Oznaczało to wprowadzenie łacińskich praktyk takich jak kalendarz gregoriański i ścisłe przestrzegania celibatu duchownych.
