We validate eleven syntaxa (eight associations and three alliances) of tall-forb vegetation that were published earlier as nomina provisoria according to the International Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature. The validation concerns syntaxa of tall-forb vegetation of the class Prangetea ulopterae Klein 1987 reported from Pamir-Alai and western Tian Shan Mountains (Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan). Taxonomic reference: Cherepanov (1995). Abbreviations: ICPN = International Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature.

Rare earth elements (REE) are important in numerous high technology applications and in addition their supply risk is high, which gives rise to studying new sources for rare earth elements. Rare earth element concentrations in industrial fly ash samples collected from Finnish power plants, using a mixture of peat and biomass as a fuel, have been determined. The study of the ceramics from the site of the Batterie Basse in the region of Manche, shows again that the presence of bioclasts in the clays of protohistoric ceramics is a very common phenomenon in Normandy unlike in Brittany, where in the current state of knowledge only one individual from the Iron Age has been described. These bioclasts, mostly fragments of bivalves, are non-plastic elements naturally present in the clays, either in the form of fossils, either in the form of contemporary shells, or are incorporated by the craftsmans after being pounded to modify the technical characteristics of the clays. The determination of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with single-particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry can be severely interfered with coexisting dissolved silver causing high background signals, which can lead to inaccurate quantification of NP size and particle concentration.
