This study explores how teachers' attitudes and competencies influence their willingness to adopt mobile learning approaches. By mobile learning we mean teaching approaches that use mobile devices to enliven and extend traditional teaching. Of particular interest is exploring how first-order (e.g. lack of adequate access, time, training and support) and secondorder (e.g. teacher's pedagogical and technological beliefs and willingness to change) barriers affect teachers' beliefs and attitudes. La incorporación del periodismo digital en los planes de estudio de las Ciencias de la Comunicación es lenta. En este artículo se analiza el proceso de introducción de este contenido en Colombia. Se lleva a cabo un estudio de caso sobre el ciberdiario De la Urbe Digital, experiencia llevada a cabo en la Universidad de Antioquia, en Medellín (Colombia), que permitió a los estudiantes universitarios de Pregrado llevar a la práctica los contenidos teóricos que estaban recibiendo. Pese a la tradición de periodismo en papel que prevalece en algunos entornos universitarios, el caso que analizamos refleja propuestas metodológicas innovadoras.
