Prediction of the next value of a function

The following model of inductive inference is considered. Arbitrary set tau = {tau_1, tau_2, ..., tau_n} of n total functions N->N is fixed. A "black box" outputs the values f(0), f(1), ..., f(m), ... of some function f from the set tau. Processing these values by some algorithm (a strategy) we try to predict f(m+1) from f(0), f(1), ..., f(m). Upper and lower bounds for average error numbers are obtained for prediction by using deterministic and probabilistic strategies.
Alteration-Induced Volcano Instability at La Soufrière de Guadeloupe (Eastern Caribbean)

International audience; Volcanoes are unstable structures that deform laterally and frequently experience mass wasting events. Hydrothermal alteration is often invoked as a mechanism that contributes significantly to volcano instability. We present a study that combines laboratory experiments, geophysical data, and large-scale numerical modeling to better understand the influence of alteration on volcano stability, using La Soufrière de Guadeloupe (Eastern Caribbean) as a case study. Laboratory experiments on variably altered (advanced argillic alteration) blocks show that uniaxial compressive strength, Young's modulus, and cohesion decrease as a function of increasing alteration, but that …

Propagation of pluvial floods in urban areas, occurring with return time periods of few years, can be well solved using dual models accounting for the mutual relationship between the water level in the streets and the discharges inside the sewer pipes. The extended WEC-flood model (EWEC), based on the use of unstructured triangular meshes and a diffusive formulation of the momentum equations in both the 2D and the 1D lower domains, is presented along with its novelty, limits, and advantages. Lietojuma norādes sniedz svarīgu informāciju par leksikas vienību lietojumu. Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt lietojuma norādes piecās vadošajās angļu valodas mācību vārdnīcās, lai noskaidrotu, vai vārdnīcas izmanto konsekventu pieeju attiecībā uz lietojuma norāžu izmantošanu. Pētījumā tiek izmantota aprakstošā un salīdzinošā satura analīzes metode. Pētījuma ietvaros arī tika veikta aptauja, lai uzzinātu, kāda ir lietotāju attieksme pret lietojuma norāžu atspoguļojumu vārdnīcās un cik lielā mērā tās ir noderīgas lietotājiem. The context change at the same challenges the traditional spatial design paradigm calling for tools and approaches that are applicable to ICT enhanced practices. Maģistra darba tēma ir aktuāla mūsdienās saistībā ar globāla mēroga cīņu ar finanšu un ekonomiskajiem noziedzīgiem nodarījumiem, kā arī cīņu ar noziedzīgi iegūtiem līdzekļiem, kas tādējādi ir veicinājis arī konfiskācijas tiesību institūta attīstību. Savukārt uz notiesāšanu nebalstītu konfiskāciju (non-conviction based confiscation) var dēvēt par vienu no kriminālprocesa inovitātēm, kas pastāv līdzās mums jau zināmajai konfiskācijai ar notiesājošu spriedumu.
