Ihmisväestön kasvu valtaa jatkuvasti lisää pinta-alaa luonnontilaisilta alueilta. Ympäristön muuttuminen urbaanimmaksi vähentää luonnonvaraisten eläinten elintilaa merkittävästi, ja eläinten yhdeksi vaihtoehdoksi tarjoutuu uusien elinalueiden etsiminen urbaanista ympäristöstä. Osa eläimistä kykeneekin sopeutumaan urbaaneihin ekosysteemeihin. Moral Orders of Mobility: Youth Aspirations and ‘Doing’ Social Position in Finland

By studying the moral orders that young Finnish adults (aged 18–30) attach to geographical mobility, this article reveals previously neglected relationships between aspiration and mobility. The 40 young adult interviewees are living in the midst of Finnish political debates about youth aspiration, which emphasise geographical rather than social mobility as a way to enhance employability and demonstrate aspiration. We argue that young people themselves use the discourse of geographical mobility by leaning on morally ordered social positionings which tend to be classed and gendered. Young women’s contradictory expectations and their perceived capabilities for future work-family reconciliation in Finland

This paper explores young women’s expectations on future work-family reconciliation in Finland, a Nordic country well-known for the promotion of gender equality. Utilising Sen’s capabilities approach, we content-analysed thirty individual interviews to identify differences in women’s expectations and their perceived capabilities in future work and care. The results showed that irrespective of their labour market status and educational attainment, the women’s expectations were contradictory, reflecting a current Finnish gender culture that embraces both the ideal of shared parenthood and the primacy of maternal care. Piedošana un sēru izpausmes sievietēm pēc perinatālā zaudējuma

Šī pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt saikni starp piedošanas dimensijām (piedošana sev, piedošana citiem un piedošana situācijām), sēru simptomiem un zaudējuma raksturlielumiem sievietēm pēc perinatālā zaudējuma. Kā arī noskaidrot kādā mērā piedošana un zaudējuma raksturlielumi prognozē sēru simptomus. Pētījuma respondentu izlasi veido 440 sievietes, vecumā no 20 līdz 45. gadiem, kur vidējais vecums ir 33,2 gadi. Lai mērītu piedošanu, tika izmantota Hartlenda piedošanas skala (Heartland Forgiveness Scale, Thompson & Snyder, 2003), kuru Latvijā adaptējusi Vendija Balode, 2017. gadā.
