If the Catholic Church experiences difficulties in today’s world of ‘hyper-communication’ and 24/7 media pressure, esoteric religious language or generalised misuse of the media may not be the only factors to blame. This paper is based on the hypothesis that the reasons run more deeply into the communications ethos of the Catholic Church itself. More precisely, the paper contends that the Church’s communication in the social sphere cannot totally escape the principle of secrecy. Celem opracowania jest charakterystyka zmian zachodzących w ostatnich latach na sieciach transportowych Śląska. Przedmiotem zainteresowania są podstawowe gałęzie transportu, a zwłaszcza sieci transportu drogowego i kolejowego. Ponadto artykuł ukazuje stopień zainwestowania infrastruktury transportowej, jej braki i priorytety inwestycyjne najbliższych lat. Opracowanie, pod względem metodycznym, ma charakter przeglądowego studium opisowo-faktograficznego, wykorzystującego aktualne dane statystyczne i miejscami nawiązującego do rozwoju historycznego analizowanych sieci transportowych Śląska.

Ievads. Epilepsija ir saistīta ar paaugstinātu risku attīstīties tādiem psihiatriskiem traucējumiem kā depresija un trauksme. Šie traucējumi negatīvi ietekmē epilepsijas ārstēšanas rezultātus, dzīves kvalitāti, kā arī paaugstina pašnāvības risku. Tomēr tie joprojām netiek pietiekami atpazīti un ārstēti. Mērķis. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt depresijas un trauksmes simptomu sastopamību cilvēkiem ar epilepsiju, salīdzinot ar cilvēkiem, kuriem nav epilepsijas, balstoties uz simptomu pašnovērtējumu. “To be everywhere” and “see everything” is a declaration by Father Euzebiusz Franciszek Stateczny, a well-known Silesian writer from the turn of the 20th century, and an extraordinary monk and tenacious traveller, who in a true positivist fashion valued the truth about the world based on one’s own experience. Active commuting to school among 36,781 Spanish children and adolescents: A temporal trend study.

This study examines trends in the rates of active commuting to school (ACS) in Spanish children (n = 18 343; 8.93 ± 1.68) and adolescents (n = 18 438; 14.11 ± 1.58) aged 6‐18 years from 2010 to 2017. Given the study period included the economic crisis in Spain (2008‐2013), the second aim of this study was to compare ACS rates during and after the economic crisis. Data were obtained from 28 studies conducted across Spain. The overall trends in ACS were evaluated using multilevel logistic regression analysis.
