Tracking of blood vessels motion from 4D-flow MRI data

This paper presents a novel approach to track objects from 4D Flow MRI data. A salient feature of the proposed method is that it fully exploits the geometrical and dynamical nature of the information provided by this imaging modality. The underlying idea consists in formulating the tracking problem as a data assimilation problem, in which both position and velocity observations are extracted from the 4D Flow MRI data series. Optimal estate estimation is then performed in a sequential fashion via Kalman filtering. The capabilities of the method are extensively assessed in a numerical study involving synthetic and clinical data.
Coupled conditional backward sampling particle filter

The conditional particle filter (CPF) is a promising algorithm for general hidden Markov model smoothing. Empirical evidence suggests that the variant of CPF with backward sampling (CBPF) performs well even with long time series. Previous theoretical results have not been able to demonstrate the improvement brought by backward sampling, whereas we provide rates showing that CBPF can remain effective with a fixed number of particles independent of the time horizon. Our result is based on analysis of a new coupling of two CBPFs, the coupled conditional backward sampling particle filter (CCBPF). For the first time a vertically polarized electron beam has been used for physics experiments at MAMI in the energy range between 180 and 855 MeV. The beam-normal single-spin asymmetry $A_{\mathrm{n}}$, which is a direct probe of higher-order photon exchange beyond the first Born approximation, has been measured in the reaction $^{12}\mathrm C(\vec e,e')^{12}\mathrm C$. Vertical polarization orientation was necessary to measure this asymmetry with the existing experimental setup. Abstract Land surface temperature and emissivity are independent variables, and the thermal-infrared spectral radiance measured in remote sensing is dependent on both. Therefore the inverse Planck equation is under-determined, with two unknowns and a single measurement. Practical inversion algorithms designed to calculate temperature and emissivity from the measurements cannot do a perfect job of separation, and recovered temperature and emissivity may co-vary. Active Q-switching of an all-fiber ring laser utilizing a novel in-fiber acousto-optic tunable bandpass filter (AOTBF) is reported. The transmission characteristics of the AOTBF are controlled by amplitude modulation of the acoustic wave; the device exhibits a 3-dB power insertion loss, 0.91-nm optical bandwidth, and 28-dB nonresonant light suppression. Cavity loss modulation is achieved by full acousto-optic mode re-coupling cycle induced by traveling flexural acoustic waves. When the acoustical signal is switched on, cavity losses are reduced, and then, laser emission is generated. This paper deals with the command of inverters in DG (distributed generation) systems by use of linear neural networks in such a way that, with a slight upgrade of their control software, they can be used also to compensate for the harmonic distortion in the node where they are connected (local compensation), that is in the in the point of common coupling (PCC). This paper presents a modification to the classical Model Predictive Control algorithm, named Modulated Model Predictive Control, and its application to active power filters. The proposed control is able to retain all the advantages of a Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control whilst improving the generated waveforms harmonic spectrum. By using the Extended Kalman Filter an accurate path following in turbulent air is performed. The procedure employs simultaneously two dierent EKFs: the rst one estimates disturbances, the second one aords to determine the necessary controls displacements for rejecting those ones.
