Iterative geometric modelling and new world of shapes

Mes recherches ont pour cadre la modélisation géométrique pour la Conception Assistée par Ordinateur et la Synthèse d'images. Plus précisément, j'étudie les possibilités qu'offrent les procédés de construction itératifs basés sur le principe de la géométrie fractale. Partant du modèle IFS (Iterated Function System), nous avons montré qu'il est possible de modéliser des formes non conventionnelles et ainsi de donner accès à un nouvel univers de formes aux concepteurs, artistes et designers. In recent times thorough changes concerning the treatment of the wedding vows take place. One of the ways to create a positive approach to marriage seems to be a solemn observation of marriage jubilees .The paper deals with the historical process of the development of the forms of observance concerning wedding anniversaries. However the main emphasis is put on the rites of wedding anniversary in post conciliar liturgical books. The reader may also become aware of the idea and history of pilgrimages organized on the occasion of the silver and golden marriage jubilees, considering also a strong and clear testimony to the importance of the wedding vows.

Fast prototyping of parallel image processing applications using functional skeletons

We present SKiPPER, a software dedicated to the fast prototyping of vision algorithms on MIMD/DM platforms. This software is based upon the concept of algorithmic skeletons, i.e. higher order program constructs encapsulating recurring forms of parallel computations and hiding their low-level implementation details. Examples of such skeletons in low- to mid-level image processing include such as geometric decompositions, data or task farming. Each skeleton is given an architecture-independant functional (but executable) specification, a portable implementation as a process template and an analytic performance model. This paper present a method for close range photogrammetry based on an camera positioning scheme in which two cameras capture an equal portion of an object at the same scale, but have different focal lengths and camera-to-object distances. This scheme is alternative to the stereoscopic scheme and is associated with a system of equations which permits one to calculate first the relief displacement of points on a photograph and then their relief relative to a reference plane. Integral imaging concept provides a fascinating tool for the capture and display of 3-D images or movies with full parallax, with no need for special glasses and without visual fatigue due to the convergence and accommodation conflict. Reconstruction of urban sites from photos

Abstract. This paper reports the results of an experiment that aims at the virtual reconstruction of a urban site that has been partially reshaped during the 20th century; the reconstruction process is based on period photos. The chosen case study is the eldest harbour of Palermo, named ‘Cala’; the site was bombed during World War II and new buildings took the place of the ruined ones. Two period photos, taken from an aircraft, document the buildings that were destroyed by bombs.
