Charcot-neuro-osteoarthropathy with its severe destruction of bones remains a challenge for physicians and surgeons. The aim of the study was to characterise a patient population treated in a specialised foot care centre who underwent surgical treatment for their diabetic foot syndrome. Special attention was paid to patients who suffered from Charcot-neuro-osteoarthropathy and the impact of Syme amputation if amputation of the foot was inevitable. In the edentulous lower jaw implant stabilised dentures have proved clinically so successful that the indication for this treatment is now being discussed more often with geriatric patients. The aim of this study of edentate subjects was to determine the age-relation of the demand for denture improvement, the risks and feasibility of implant treatment. Sixty four complete denture wearers aged from 42 to 84 years took part in the study. A questionnaire was used to determine the subjective demand for denture improvement. Materials and methods: In this prospective multi-center study, 65 patients between 20 and 74 years of age and with a need for a single tooth replacement were included. Fixed rehabilitation of a patient with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia using zygomatic implants

We found few references in the dental literature on implant rehabilitation of patients with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia and only 1 case on zygomatic fixations and maxillary prosthesis in a patient with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. Two zygomatic fixations were placed according to the sinus slot technique, together with 3 implants in the anterior maxillary region. After 6 months, an upper complete prosthesis was screwed onto the implants, and lower overdentures were placed over the remnant canines. After 18 months of follow-up the patient reported important improvement in oral function and self-esteem.
