The generalized Kadanoff-Baym ansatz with initial correlations
2018
Within the non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formalism, the Generalized Kadanoff-Baym Ansatz (GKBA) has stood out as a computationally cheap method to investigate the dynamics of interacting quantum systems driven out of equilibrium. Current implementations of the NEGF--GKBA, however, suffer from a drawback: real-time simulations require {\em noncorrelated} states as initial states. Consequently, initial correlations must be built up through an adiabatic switching of the interaction before turning on any external field, a procedure that can be numerically highly expensive. In this work, we extend the NEGF--GKBA to allow for {\em correlated} states as initial states. Our scheme makes i…
1993
EN LA BIBLIOTECA UNIVERSITARIA DE VALENCIA SE CONSERVA EL LIBER CHRONICORUM DE SCHEDEL, MAS CONOCIDO COMO CRONICA DE NUREMBERG, EDITADO EN 1493. ES POSIBLE QUE ESTE LIBRO LLEGARA PRONTO A VALENCIA, ABIERTA AL MEDITERRANEO Y A LAS NOVEDADES CULTURALES DE AQUEL TIEMPO. QUIZA LA OBRA PUDO SER CONOCIDA POR EL CIRCULO JOANESCO, LO QUE EXPLICARIA ALGUNAS COINCIDENCIAS, SOBRE TODO ICONOGRAFICAS, ENTRE CIERTOS TEMAS DEL CIRCULO DE VICENTE MACIP Y JOAN DE JOANES Y LAS XILOGRAFIAS DE LA CELEBRE CRONICA (ABC/LAG).
Genome-wide parent-of-origin DNA methylation analysis reveals the intricacies of human imprinting and suggests a germline methylation-independent mec…
2014
Genomic imprinting is a form of epigenetic regulation that results in the expression of either the maternally or paternally inherited allele of a subset of genes (Ramowitz and Bartolomei 2011). This imprinted expression of transcripts is crucial for normal mammalian development. In humans, loss-of-imprinting of specific loci results in a number of diseases exemplified by the reciprocal growth phenotypes of the Beckwith-Wiedemann and Silver-Russell syndromes, and the behavioral disorders Angelman and Prader-Willi syndromes (Kagami et al. 2008; Buiting 2010; Choufani et al. 2010; Eggermann 2010; Kelsey 2010; Mackay and Temple 2010). In addition, aberrant imprinting also contributes to multige…
The placenta: phenotypic and epigenetic modifications induced by Assisted Reproductive Technologies throughout pregnancy
2015
International audience; Today, there is growing interest in the potential epigenetic risk related to assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Much evidence in the literature supports the hypothesis that adverse pregnancy outcomes linked to ART are associated with abnormal trophoblastic invasion. The aim of this review is to investigate the relationship between epigenetic dysregulation caused by ART and subsequent placental response. The dialogue between the endometrium and the embryo is a crucial step to achieve successful trophoblastic invasion, thus ensuring a non-complicated pregnancy and healthy offspring. However, as described in this review, ART could impair both actors involved in t…
Is it possible to compose and educate interculturally? Experiences from the Spanish educational system
2019

In situ Pesticide Detection in Food Processing by Microwave Transduction Combined with Molecularly Imprinted Polymers
2016
International audience; Since 2005, the microwave transduction coupled with a sensitive material is devoted to gas detection. In this work, we demonstrate the possibility to detect liquid pollutant (pesticide, fungicide) for food-processing industry. The principle is based on the interaction of the pollutant with a sensitive material within a microwave structure. The sensor is submitted to an electromagnetic excitation in wideband frequencies (GHz) and presents a quantitative response to liquid pollutant expositions at low concentration. The retained sensitive material is a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) specific to the pesticide targeted in a model wine. The coupling with this materia…
Application potential of dummy molecularly imprinted polymers as solid-phase extraction sorbents for determination of low-mass polybrominated dipheny…
2019
Abstract Despite the introduction of restrictive regulations in the USA and the European Union, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are still found in various types of environmental and biological samples at significant concentration levels. The presence of these persistent organic pollutants in the environment raises important issues because of their negative impact on immunological and neurological systems, and on the hormonal balances in living organisms. From the analytical point of view, the final determination of PBDEs would entail substantial challenges, because it would necessitate conducting the pre-concentration of analytes, or sample clean up. The aim of the present study is t…
Water sorption isotherms of molecularly imprinted polymers. Relation between water binding and iprodione binding capacity
2017
International audience; Molecularly imprinted polymers are often used in aqueous medium in order to recognize specifically a target molecule. The molecular recognition is usually based on hydrogen bonding. In this case, water molecule presents a serious competition towards the target molecule. In this study, the water sorption by molecularly imprinted polymers was studied in aqueous medium. The molecularly imprinted polymers were specific for iprodione fungicide and were prepared using a 24 full factorial experimental design. They were synthesized using EGDMA or TRIM as crosslinker, methacrylamide or styrene as functional monomer and using bulk or precipitation polymerization. The water sor…
