Kollineationen und Schliessungssätze für Ebene Faserungen

1979

Every affine central collineation of a translation plane π induces a special collineation of the projective space π spanned by the spreadF belonging to π. Here the relations between these special collineations of π and certain incidence propositions inF are investigated; so new proofs are given for some characterisations of (A,B)-regular spreads included in [7].

Generalised Deformations, Koszul Resolutions, Moyal Products

1998

We generalise Gerstenhaber's theory of deformations, by dropping the assumption that the deformation parameter should commute with the elements of the original algebra. We give the associated cohomology and construct a Koszul resolution for the polynomial algebra [Formula: see text] in the "homogeneous" case. We then develop examples in the case of [Formula: see text] and find some Moyal-like products of a new type. Finally, we show that, for any field K, matrix algebras with coefficients in K and finite degree extensions of K are rigid, as in the commutative case.

Consensus statement of the Italian society of pediatric allergy and immunology for the pragmatic management of children and adolescents with allergic…

2020

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has surprised the entire population. The world has had to face an unprecedented pandemic. Only, Spanish flu had similar disastrous consequences. As a result, drastic measures (lockdown) have been adopted worldwide. Healthcare service has been overwhelmed by the extraordinary influx of patients, often requiring high intensity of care. Mortality has been associated with severe comorbidities, including chronic diseases. Patients with frailty were, therefore, the victim of the SARS-COV-2 infection. Allergy and asthma are the most prevalent chronic disorders in children and adolescents, so they need careful attention and, if necessary, an adaptation of their regular…

FISSIT (Fistula Surgery in Italy) study: A retrospective survey on the surgical management of anal fistulas in Italy over the last 15 years

2021

Background: Surgical treatment of anal fistulas is still a challenge. The aims of this study were to evaluate the adoption and healing rates for the different surgical techniques used in Italy over the past 15 years. Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective observational study of patients affected by simple and complex anal fistulas of cryptoglandular origin who were surgically treated in the period 2003–2017. Surgical techniques were grouped as sphincter-cutting or sphincter-sparing and as technology-assisted or techno-free. All patients included in the study were followed for at least 12 months. Results: A total of 9,536 patients (5,520 simple; 4,016 complex fistulas) entered the stu…

Complicaciones tras técnicas de anestesia regional

2008

In recent years, there has been a considerable increase in the number of procedures carried out under regional anesthesia. The techniques used can be associated with a number of complications, which should be understood so that they can be recognized and managed appropriately. The overall incidence of reported complications associated with these techniques is low and therefore, with currently available data, we can only have an approximate idea of their incidence. The objective of this study is to systematically describe the complications that may arise from the use of neuraxial and peripheral regional anesthesia techniques.

Positron preferential annihilation in Bi-Sb alloys

2009

We report the measurements of the positron annihilation characteristics, i.e., positron lifetime and coincidence Doppler broadening spectra performed on five Bi-Sb alloys having a Bi content between 12.5 and 81 at.%. The strong effect of the preferential annihilation of positrons with the electrons of the Bi atoms has been revealed in these alloys.

The cryogenic anticoincidence detector for ATHENA-XMS: preliminary results from the new prototype

2012

ATHENA has been the re-scoped IXO mission, and one of the foreseen focal plane instrument was the X-ray Microcalorimeter Spectrometer (XMS) working in the energy range 0.3-10 keV, which was a kilo-pixel array based on TES (Transition Edge Sensor) detectors. The need of an anticoincidence (AC) detector is legitimated by the results performed with GEANT4 simulations about the impact of the non x-ray background onto XMS at L2 orbit (REQ. < 0.02 cts/cm2/s/keV). Our consortium has both developed and tested several samples, with increasing area, in order to match the large area of the XMS (64 mm2). Here we show the preliminary results from the last prototype. The results achieved in this work off…

Meet–Test–Treat for HCV management: patients’ and clinicians’ preferences in hospital and drug addiction services in Italy

2022

Abstract Background It has been estimated that the incidence of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) will not decline over the next 10 years despite the improved efficacy of antiviral therapy because most patients remain undiagnosed and/or untreated. This study aimed to investigate the opinion of relevant target populations on the practicability, effectiveness and best modalities of the test-and-treat approach in the fight against HCV in Italy. Methods A survey was delivered to patients with HCV from the general population, patients from drug addiction services, hospital physicians and healthcare providers for drug addiction services. Results For both hospital clinicians and SerD HCPs, tolerabil…

Incidence, Predictive Factors, and Prognostic Impact of Silent Atrial Fibrillation After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation.

2018

New onset atrial fibrillation post-transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is common and is associated with adverse outcomes. However, silent atrial fibrillation (AF) is poorly documented in the context. This study sought to evaluate the incidence, predictive factors, and prognostic value of Silent AF post-TAVI. All the consecutive patients with TAVI were prospectively analyzed by continuous electrocardiogram monitoring≥48 hours after implantation. Silent AF was defined as asymptomatic episodes lasting at least 30 seconds. The population was divided into 3 groups: history of AF, no-AF, and silent AF. Among the 206 patients implanted with TAVI, 19 (16.1%) developed silent AF. Compared…

2016

Background Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has become the treatment of choice in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis who are not eligible for operative replacement and an alternative for those with high surgical risk. Due to high age and smoking history in a high proportion of TAVI patients, suspicious findings are frequently observed in pre-procedural chest computer tomography (CCT).
