La presente ricerca si è svolta in tre fasi distinte. Un primo biennio tra Milano, l’Università degli Studi di Palermo e sopralluoghi presso l’ex campo di concentramento di Auschwitz, centrando le attenzioni sul tema del Memoriale italiano. A questa prima fase è seguito un semestre di ricerche presso l’Universidad Politecnica de Madrid in cui sono state svolte le prime ricerche sull’IAUs (Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies, 1968-1985) e «Oppositions» (1973-1985), sopratutto per quanto concerne le relazioni fra Spagna, Tendenza italiana e Stati Uniti. Human capital formation : state or market management This paper examines the likely difficulties of the management by the state of the education sector. Concerning the operation of the system, the analysis is based on international comparisons and on the French experience. As a whole the difficulties are linked to the weak accountability and justification in the use of the resources mobilized. This arises from the absence of the regulatory mechanisms as those existing in a market oriented activity. The purpose of this contribution is to re-examine the iconography of an Etruscan hydria by the Micali Painter, probably the most famous craftsman of the black-figure ceramics technique at the end of the 6th century B.C. In our opinion, this vase would present the Etruscan version of a Greek myth showing the ancient Tuscans as pirates attempting to kidnap Dionysus. This figuration, which also appears in Greek sources, could be interpreted as the rivalry between the two cultures for the control of the wine trade in the western part of the Mediterranean. Obesity is an unfavorable prognostic factor in breast cancer (BC) patients regardless of menopausal status and treatment received. However, the association between obesity and survival outcome by pathological subtype requires further clarification. METHODS: We performed a retrospective analysis including 5,683 operable BC patients enrolled in four randomized clinical trials (GEICAM/9906, GEICAM/9805, GEICAM/2003-02, and BCIRG 001) evaluating anthracyclines and taxanes as adjuvant treatments. Innovative Approaches for Organizing an Inclusive Optics and Photonics Conference in Virtual Format

The COVID pandemic is forcing the renewal of scientific conferences, offering opportunities to introduce technological and inclusive developments. Our analysis focuses on the implementation of inclusive practices for female and early-career researchers in a virtual scientific conference. This organization approach was applied in the XIII Spanish Optical Meeting (RNO2021), which was also characterized by avatars interacting in an online metaverse. The effectiveness of inclusive policies and novel technological tools was evaluated using the participation data and a post-conference survey.
