This thesis considers the effects of the global financial crisis that started in 2008 on the retail banking environment and on banks’ behavior during and in the aftermath of the crisis. The thesis consists of an introductory chapter and three empirical articles that use unique datasets on Finnish cooperative banks. The introductory chapter provides background and an overview of the thesis and considers the effects of the crisis on retail banking from an overall perspective. In the last decades, the dwindling of the fossil sources of energy coupled with the growth of energy demand and of waste production prompted the research in developing novel industrial technologies for renewable energy production and waste valorization. Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) is a good alternative to transform wet biomasses as microalgae, macroalgae, agricultural residues, food waste, and municipal sludge (MS) into value-added products with high efficiency and decreasing the amounts that has to be disposed of. Urban growth, jointed to technical networks, contributes to human pressure on water resources. In the meantime, the water French policy put management of urban development in accordance with catchments and hydrologic dynamics; that makes districts and intermunicipal groupings adopt new areas and action systems. The urban area of Dijon is located in three catchments and above a wide groundwater. This case shows urban water management gives greater place to precariousness and common character of water resources, even if institutional responses mainly concern town planning regulation.

The main goal of this paper is the examine the circumstances of the Kosovo battle in 1389. Fundamental difficulty in describing this battle results from the fact that there was no separate chronicler. Moreover, the description of the battle of Kosovo field is based only on fragmentary information transmitted by Serbian, Bosnian, Turkish or Byzantine chroniclers. The author of this article proposed a thesis that battle of Kosovo field contributed to development of both Ottoman and Serbian art of warfare. Agronomical evaluation of Sicilian biotypes of Lavandula stoechas L. spp. stoechas and analysis of the essential oils

The aim of this study was to characterize wild lavender, which was collected in three different areas of Sicily (Italy),according to agronomic and chemical evaluation. The collection sites were located in Pantelleria island, Partinico (a warm sub-area of Lauretum) and Castelbuono (a middle sub-area of Lauretum). All the populations were identified as Lavandula stoechas L. ssp. stoechas. Essential oils were extracted by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas chromatography– flame ionization detector (GC–FID) and GC–mass spectrometry (GC–MS).
